Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.
You’ll just end up having to buy the big name brands when this fails to work. Save yourself some time and money (and the added risk of a home flea infestation) by skipping this in favor of the more expensive flea treatments that are out there. It’s not worth the 1/1000 chance that MAYBE you’ll get lucky and have it work for your cat.
what on earth happened to this formula!? I can say it has been almost if not already a year since I've had to re order this product. but my cats are inside cats and they haven't had fleas in a very long time to where I know some how someway there was some sorta straggler or something that came home with us and this batch I got gave my cats relief for about a week.... I was so angry to find out I wanted my money as well as now have extra medicine that serves no purpose. I love that for me and cats that have been getting bit up EVEN WORSE now that this doesn't work anymore. JUST LOVE IT FOR US.
Holy *bleep*, this stuff actually works! (Is there an equivalent for dogs?!) After reading all the reviews and researching the ingredients, I concluded this was the best option for my 3 cats and budget. Just to prove to myself that Catego actually works, before applying, I ran a flea comb across the back of each cat and pulled off 2-3 fleas on each. After applying Catego, I waited 3 hours and ran the comb across their back again (making sure not to touch the liquid) and again pulled off some live and some dead fleas. The next evening, I thoroughly flea combed each cat head to toe, reaching every nook and cranny fleas like to hide, and only pulled out a small handful of dead fleas, dried eggs, and flea dirt. It's been 12 days with a thorough nightly brushing and no fleas on the cats! This despite the 2 dogs carrying live fleas in from outside (the dogs are also on flea treatment). The flea infestation was worse than I realized, so I'm impressed that in the span of 3 days, I'm not finding live fleas. One cat had started pulling clumps of fur out when scratching and has since stopped. I started to give him L-lysine chews (purchased on Chewy) 12 days ago and his fur is growing back, his eyes are clearer, and he has way more energy. Lesson learned, always keep pets on flea meds! If Catego continues to work for the entire month, this will be my flea treatment of choice.
This is a great product especially for the price. Have multiple cats we have used it on. No adverse effects on any. Several outside cats were having problems with ticks and this product worked so well to help. We apply as directed. Also have a cat with flea dermatitis and he loses his hair terribly from just a few fleas. This product took care of his problem too. I do recommend it. Easy to open and apply.
We tried 2 doses timed exactly as instructed and all three cats still have fleas. Two cats go in and out and one stays inside. Never used a product this bad
This works great had been using other long time brand and I will vouch this product works much better and we have to kitties that have major allergies and this product doesn't have the side effect of kitties loosing their fur as the other product did for many years! Thenak you for bringing this product to your sight!!
This product was recommended to me by a friend that's a vet tech. I was skeptical because it's better priced than the other brands but so far so good. I'm on month 3 of use and I have no complaints. Other brands my cat tried to just about pull her fur out from whatever ingredients were in them. This one she tolerates more. So for the price, tolerable ingredients and handles fleas and ticks I'd give it 2 paws up!
I have had great success with this product. It doesn't irritate the skin like Revolution did. My Veterinarian suggested I give this a try as I have 8 Cats. 2 of my Cats are allergic to flea bites and created sores because of scratching. I don't have a major flea problem but my Cats do go out in the backyard sometimes so can potentially pick up a flea. In a matter of a week, my Cats sore on her neck was healed up ( because she no long was itching) and all the cats..no fleas. The only negative is it really only last about 3 weeks. This product is my new go to for the Cats.
We gave this to 3, 10 week old kittens that all weighed over 2 pounds. Almost immediately, all 3 kittens began drooling abnormally. The symptoms seemed to persist and the kittens did not seem to be tolerating the product well. As such, we washed the product off within 10 minutes using Dawn dishsoap and the symptoms subsided. Needless to say, this did nothing for the fleas.
I have been using Catego for the past few years with mostly success. However, this past time (Oct. 2022) I applied it to 4 of my cats 5 days ago. We’ll, I just removed SIX ticks from one cat’s NECK and two ticks from another cat. They were engorged and alive. I see no point to relying on this product anymore.
