Can these be used in the microwave?

This bowl is made of melamine. Melamine is a very safe material, and it is widely used for outdoors and kids tableware. But in general, melamine should not be microwaved, because when exposed to high temperatures the chemicals from melamine may get transferred to food. That mainly concerns humans, who eat large portions and enjoy hot meals. As for cats, you will probably need to heat up their food only for a few seconds, in which case the bowl will not get hot. Please use your discretion, depending on how often and how much you need to microwave it.

Great bowls!

I love these bowls! They are easy to clean and more food goes into the kitties belly than the garbage. Less mess to clean up too! I just wish they had 2 cutouts for picking up instead of 1, but that is minor compared to less cat food waste!

Great bowls

My cat doesn't struggle as much to get her wet food off the bottom of this bowl and it's shallow, which I think she appreciates (low whisker stress). Less food ends up outside the bowl than with any other shallow bowl I've tried.

the cats & I like them

I bought the box of 2 to test them out: so far so good! All 3 cats will eat off them. The food stays on the dish & doesn't get all over the place - even with my messy eater. The design is sleek & clean. I do wish they were a bit higher off the floor (CatGuru take note!) but am still pleased with them overall. I have since bought more so that each cat has one.

No need to lick whiskers!

No need to lick whiskers because they don’t get dirty! These bowls are great for our Persians who HATE to get their heads in a regular bowl. They are large enough to hold a meal, and they clean up easily.

Buy these bowls

I must have bought 20 different bowls, plates, Saucers, different sizes, shapes, colors. The cats lick the food over the edge and there's dried crusty canned food crumbs all around the dish. Finally, 4 meals served already in these melamine bowl, and no mess. My cat also had major dental surgery, twice, and had to eat with a cone on, and she managed to make it work because they are wide enough. Dried food is also easy to get off as the melamine doesn't really cause canned food to stick. Anyway, I'm buying 6 more because I have 2 cats that eat twice a day.

Great feeder

Our cats love these and they look good as well. Needed something where they weren't flinging their wet food all over the place and their whiskers had enough space for comfort.

Melamine not ceramic

My bad. I thought these were ceramic. They are good for the whiskers but I can’t say there is less spill than with the straight sided ceramic bowls we were using before.

Works well

I feed wet food to my diabetic cat in these bowls, and he does not make such a mess while eating anymore. I give him about 1/4 - 1/3 of a 5.5 oz can of food at a time. The bowls are constructed well and have four non-slip feet.

We love these bowls!

I was skeptical about the "whisker fatigue" issue, but not any more. My cats used to eat a bit, come back later and eat a little more, and there was always food left over in the dish. Since we got these bowls, they eat so enthusiastically, usually polishing off all the food right away, and there's never food left over in the dish. Plus, the dishes are a breeze to take care of. They wash up very easily, and the cut-outs on the side are a nice touch. They make the bowls easier to pick up and carry.

Needs work

These dishes made sense in paper but in reality my cat ends up pushing a lot of his food right out of the bowl. They need a small lip at the top to prevent this. One the plus side they are nice and wide so whiskers don’t touch and they are skid proof.
