I stared at this for almost a year before buying. Def worth the money for it. I can see why some people might be frustrated on putting it together but honestly you just line up the holes and pins and snap the silver holds in place. I didn't have to struggle very much. I love how secure it is, the face that the door can come completely off without breaking down the carrier, and the shoulder strap are really a nice touch. The food bowls and go in and out from the front flap and it's very secure once in there. This is a great carrier and would really be good if you had to go on extended travel.
Great for vet visits
Perfect for a cat that is resistant to coming out of the kennel at the vet. Also works great as a "house" for our little lady to get away from the craziness of her brothers.
Flawed, but Great for Rescue Work
Yes, I struggled a bit to put it together and, initially, closing the top seemed iffy, but I have learned to love it. I volunteer in rescue and handling a cat one doesn’t know very well is much more comfortable with this kind of opening and roominess. I can transport a mom and kittens in it, and they will continue to use it when left open in the foster room. My own vet loves it. The rescue vet will often just treat my fosters in it without taking them out. It IS heavy, but I wouldn’t write it off!
Great carrier with the snap-open top makes it really easy to put the cat in and take out.
Carrier waste of money
Absolute waste of money! Cheap plastic. Not a tight fit. Won’t stay together if animal in carrier. Door opening is a pain to close. For a carrier that looked great, it’s a total failure - nothing good about it whatever.
My favorite carrier - I bought a second one!
I love this thing. The front and top openings are perfect for any cat who doesn't like to go into a carrier. I take the front door off, put a soft blanket in it and leave them in my bedroom so the cats can go in and out of them any time, and they smell like us, so when I take them to the vet every year for their checkups, it's not quite as stressful since the carrier smells like home. My girls are 10 lbs, and the interior, even with a cushy blanket, is roomy and what I would consider comfortable for a cat to travel in style.
The carrier is a cool color and style, however, the construction leaves a lot to be desired. I was able to assemble the carrier pretty quickly, just a little difficult. The most unfortunate thing is when the assembled carrier fell off my lap to the floor, empty, and the entire face came off. Had there been a cat inside it would have easily escaped. I would encourage the designer to look for more durable materials and engineering.
Cute but heavy
I wasnt thinking this was going to be has heavy as it is. It took some work putting it together. It is very cute in color with lots of air ventilation and perfect sized traveling cups that do stay in place. My only complaint is that when you go to open it from the top it does not want to go back together. You have to work at it and when you have a stressed kitty coming home from the vet office it is not the best put together carrier. I paid the price for the color but as spendy as it is I wouldnt recommend this for vet visits.
I have an elderly kitty and the open top allows me to get her in easily for trips to the vet and the large clear door allows her to see everything and feel more comfortable while in the carrier. It has been a real godsend in making the process of caring for her less stressful for both of us!
nice looking carrier, but...
We were so excited to get this carrier! We had decided that we’d work on getting some new carriers to transport our cats to and from vet appointments. The cheap ones weren’t very sturdy and were falling apart so we opted to try one that was more expensive. Unfortunately more expensive doesn’t mean better quality in this case. The assembly was simple, but the “cabrio” feature can hardly be used properly. The two sides will not join together without a log of struggle, and one of the kittens got her paw stuck in there while I was trying to get it closed for a trial run. It took far too long to get it secured, and even then it didn’t feel sturdy. I’m afraid to use it to take any of our fosters anywhere. We typically LOVE Catit products. This one just didn’t work well at all. :(
