These motion balls can be used for your cats to play with even without the tracks.

How many hours do batteries last since they are not reusable?
Answer by ChewyDec 12, 2017
It is hard to say how long the ball will last as it depends on how much usage it receives and for what time length it remains activated.

Can a shihtzu play with this?
Answer by ChewyOct 05, 2019
Though it is a cat toy, dogs can play with it as well.

Do the balls roll around on their own? Or do they only light up when you physically roll them? (I do not have a track system)
Answer by ChewyNov 26, 2019
The balls feature motion-activated light whenever they're rolled with or without the track system.

Lighted Balls

These balls are okay in one way, but in another way/area, the lights are way too bright for the cats' eyes. If they bother my eyes, then it would bother the cats' eyes, their eyes are way more sensitive to light and especially to pulsating bright lights. In its present state, I would NOT recommend these to anyone, unless something is done with the bright lights. My cats refuse to play with these. They tried once and then left them alone for good afterward.

Better for Playful Kitten Stage

I ordered these on a whim for my 6mo kittens, and one loves them while the other isn't sure what to think! I agree with other reviews: the balls do light up at random (the reason I'm on this review thread, actually), but my girls love the lights! They're not bright enough that it's bothersome at night, and they're perfect for playing in broad daylight! They do seem fragile, but they're heavy enough that my kittens can bang them against the wall and they've held up. Order was received a week ago - I'm happy with the result but also don't expect them to last over a year!
