Weekly Maintenance Tips:
Wash and rinse fountain with a soft sponge and a non-abrasive cleanser. Rinse thoroughly, ensuring no soapy residue. Remove the filter from the base and rinse. Do not wash the filter with soap. If filter contains excess debris or other foreign matter, replace it (replacement filters sold separately).
The filter should be replaced every 3 weeks or when there are visible signs that the filter is saturated with foreign matter (debris, food, hair, etc.) More frequent changes may be necessary due to indoor environmental and water conditions, as well as multiple pet use.
Should pump appear dirty, open pump and remove impeller cap and impeller. Remove any debris from the impeller and clean impeller well with cotton swab. Handle impeller with care.

My pet seems afraid of the unit. What should I do? Although the majority of pets readily accept using the fountain, your pet may be intimidated by the unit at first. It is important to encourage drinking from the fountain. Remove other water sources for a limited amount of time. Your pet will become accustomed to the unit within a few days. It is imperative to monitor your pet’s use of the fountain at first to ensure that he is drinking to avoid dehydration.
How often should I fill my unit? Refill frequency is dependent on many factors, including how much your pet drinks, how many pets use the fountain, and the environmental conditions where the unit is located. There will be more water evaporation in a dry, warm area versus a cool area.
Once the filter has been installed, for how long should I run the fountain before hard water is softened? Run the fountain for approximately 60 minutes to soften the water and remove calcium and magnesium present in tap water.
Why is the unit making gurgle sounds? The gurgle sounds are an indication that the water level is very low. Refill immediately (refer to filling instructions). Never let the unit run dry.
My unit has a white film on it. What is it and how can I remove it? The white film is a lime mineral deposit resulting from hard water. To remove these stains, soak affected areas in a vinegar solution to loosen deposit. Remove by wiping with a soft cloth. Ensure to rinse thoroughly.
Why is the water not pumping properly through the unit? There may be some foreign matter (food, hair, debris) trapped in the filter, or pump, that may be causing this problem. Examine the filter. Should it be saturated with foreign matter, it must be replaced. Should the filter appear in functioning order, check the pump carefully. You may need to open the pump and clean out the interior for it to function properly (refer to cleaning instructions).
I plugged in the unit, but there is no water flowing. What should I do? There could be air trapped in the pump, preventing it from functioning properly. To remove air from the system, repeat the process of unplugging and plugging in the unit until the water begins to flow
My cats sat and watched the water flow for about 10 minutes then pawed at it a liitle. Since then they love it. I would give it 5 stars if the plastic tub was clear plastic. Being able to see water level without taking the top off would be so much better.
So far so good. I like this better than their flower model because it has a detachable plug. The ac adapter on the last one would get hot. This one is usb. So far so good on this one.
We have 2 dogs and 3 cats and they all use it. The best part is the kitten is not spilling water by playing in it.
Thought I'd try this for an older cat that has hip issues and can't bend much. She uses it all the time along with most of the other cats.I've used some others kinds in the past but really like this one because it's easy to fill, doesn't take up much room and off the floor for easy drinking
I was excited about this. My cats were not. I had to turn it down to about half for them to even go near it to see what it was. After about a week one of the cats used it but the other refuses. It does spit out water when the pump is all the way open so be mindful of that. Its a good cat fountain if your cats are brave enough to use it lol
Cats love it and learned rather quick how to use it. After having this for nearly a year the pump began making a louder noise and we can’t get it to stop. It still works perfectly fine, and we hardly noticed it when we had it in the bedroom, though now it’s hard to not hear now. It took us a while to figure out how the pump comes apart to clean inside it, but makes it fairly easy to do so.
There's really nothing wrong with the pet drinking fountain, but so far, NONE of my cats will drink out of it! My German Shepherd won't even use it...
I have 2 of these. My cats love them. I've read the bad reviews and glad I didn't listen to them. If it's not covering the whole surface, it's probably not level. One of mine was hardly working. I pulled the pump out and it was clogged with hair. I cleaned it off and found the pump was also turned down. I turned it up and it's fine now. Yes the pump is adjustable.
I have three cats, and they all love this fountain. I am looking to get replacement filters but can't seem to find them.
Chewy, you are the best, really! That being said, I recommend you discontinue this item and replace it with something more durable. We have to put this inside of a deep platter lined with a towel to keep the water from dripping on the floor. We thought is was splattering from the tip and rolling down the side but it seems like there’s a leak somewhere that keeps getting worse. And it’s loud.
