Quality of the toy is great, but it did not end up on my cat's favorite toys list. Lil homie seems content to just occasionally slap it and run away. Dude is pretty fearless, so his reaction was mostly curiosity and then jadedness. BUT: the mechanics of the movement are loud enough that if you have a skitty kitty, I don't recommend it. They would probably be negatively startled by this toy.
I charged for several hours when it was first received and the indicator changed from red to green. I had to wack it around a bit to get it to wriggle, which it did for about 10 seconds. I left it for a bit to see if it was intermittent, but it didn’t happen again. I put it on the charger and the indicator was already red. I tried again 3 hours later and the same thing happened. Don’t buy this if you want it for the motorized movement because there are a handful of other reviews citing this same problem.
My cat has a very short attention span for most toys. But with this one, just as he's about to stop, it starts flapping again and he's drawn back in. At least for another minute or two. It's activated when it's touched/moved, so if he pokes at it, it comes to life. He seems to really like it!
He doesn't care for it when it's motionless, and gets frightened when it does flop. I still keep it as sometimes when he gets aggressively nibbly, I use the fish to stop him so that's my utility for it.
Disappointing toy. Does not turn on with motion. Cats lay on it and bat it around but the thing doesn’t flop. I have to kick it to get it started and then the fish flops for only a few seconds. Sound is annoying. The dog tries to kill it but the cats clearly think it’s a stupid toy. I agree!
My cat is very picky when it comes to toys, I can’t get any toys with tails or tassels as he will chew them off and eat them. So that was why I picked this one. At first when I turned it on he ran from it and I thought it was going to be like many other toys, a waste of money. But surprisingly he now plays with this the longest of any other toys. Also, I’ve had it for awhile and have not had to charge it yet. Also, like that it is rechargeable and there are no parts that can easily be chewed off
My kitties enjoy it a lot and the charge seems to be holding, but I was embarrassed to learn that my downstairs neighbor could hear it through the ceiling. Not a defect of the product, but just thought I'd warn anyone else in an apartment building without carpeting -- our floppy friend is loud on the floor!
My girl loved it and immediately started throwing it around. She loves big toys to toss and wrestle. I turned on the flopping, and she wasn't sure she liked it as much so I turned it back off again. I'll let them check it over for a while and try it again.
Our young cat loves this toy. Plays with it for hours. She lives with older cats that love the fact that this toy uses up her energy.
This Catit Groovy fish has been charged several times for hours. The fish only moves about 20 seconds. We've tried several times and have given up.
