Needs Help
I am a gardener and some people wondered what the tan stuff was. It's vermiculite a growing medium instead of dirt for seeds. Good product design for the cat BUT the seeds are not good at all, they don't grow well and takes way to long compared to seeds I have bout at a pet store. So if you have the same problem just buy different seeds. I had bought an extra box of seeds for this from Chewy with the same problem. Not Chewy's fault but the manufacturer of the seeds.

This toy was a wonderful find and super easy to grow the grass. My adventurous and energetic kitten WOULD NOT stop chewing on and knocking over all of my plants :(((. Finally I found this and thought, we’ll if you can’t beat them, join them. Since I’ve bought this (knocking on wood) I have not come home to any piles of dirt in my carpet or plants ripped out of the soil! She seems content to chew on HER grass and play with the attached toys! Would recommend if you’re trying to distract your cat :) grass was sprouting less than a week from set up.
Great Grass
I thought my cats would tire of this but much to my delight the grass is growing great, they love playing with the ball and the bee. They like eating the grass. WIN WIN WIN
A favorite
I haven't even done the grass yet, but the kitties love to play with the ball and bird. I have to leave it in the living room, or I'd be hearing the ball going most of the night. The grass has a separate unit for easy removal for planting.
My cats love this!
My cats love the cat grass since they cannot venture outside right now. I bought the Catit flashing balls and added it to the track and they love that too!

The toy itself is a winner! The grass would not grow with the provided material that came with the toy, I even tried freshly bought potting soil. No Go.... and that is from someone with a green thumb, go figure
He loves it
He likes to hide in an around the grass while playing with the toys. Took a little searching for instructions on how to grow the grass. But well worth it.
A success and easy to set up
The grass grew quickly and today my boys were able to enjoy the new toy and have a snack. I like the set up without soil with that cover since Simba likes to dig!

My husband and I were very excited to get this for our kittens when we first got them however it took awhile for the grass to grow and never got very thick. When there was enough grass to insert in the toy my one cat just pulled it all out and spit it out. It seemed they were more interested in the soil and seeds. I hope to try to grow cat grass again and see how it turns out now that I have a better understanding of it. So the toy has been without any grass however my cats can still utilize the ball and the bee on it.
