Catit Treat Ball Cat Toy

I have two cats that have poor breakfast behaviors, but we have little time to address it personally due to our schedules. Our younger cat gets full throttle zoomies and wants to play with our older cat when breakfast is served, while the older cat just wants to eat as quickly as possible to avoid getting involved with the former's antics, leading her to scarf and barf. This toy has greatly helped in making the older cat slow down when eating, as well as help keep the younger cat interested in their food for a while. Not only Buddy says that but the two neighbor cats who come to visit agree. It didn't take them long to figure it out. I have to refill it two or three times a day.

My treat-motivated boy needs something that dispenses slowly so he stays engaged. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes he gets the angle just right and the treats pour out, but most of the time he enjoys pushing this around the house. I especially like that it’s clear so he can see the treats as well as hear them tumble. I think it helps engage his brain as well. Great toy for the price!

This can't be taken apart to wash, as far as I can figure. There are no washing instructions at all. I don't think that was clear from the product description, but to be honest it didn't occur to me to check because of COURSE anything you feed a cat from ought to be fully clean-able. Basically your only option would be to soak it and hope that gets out any treat residue, which... mmm. We'll see, I guess, but I don't have high hopes.

My 2 Kittens would not even try to play with this. I filled it with treats as instructed and rolled it to them. They ate the treats that came out on my roll, poked at the ball and walked away. Left it out for several days, they would poke at it and walk away. Other balls fascinate them. Sorry, its a DUD with Lexi and Midnight.

My senior cat needed some mental stimulation. He likes that he gets treats from it, but still isn’t grasping that it’s coming out of the ball and not from under it.. oh well! I like that the opening is adjustable for differing levels of difficulty but it can make oblong shaped treats near impossible to get out. Also, the spiral inside isn’t flush against the wall and treats get stuck in there (as seen in attached photo), driving my cat crazy. Overall, it was a decent purchase but I may try something different going further.

Cannot be taken apart to clean and the hole the treat is supposed to come out of is too small. My cat was only able to get 2 treats and has such a hard time, he isn't motivated by it. I used the temptation treats too, so a common household treat having a hard time getting out of a treat ball feels like it was poorly designed.

A great way to keep our kitty occupied while we are trying to eat our own meal . I like that it is adjustable to different sizes of small treats .

I use two of these Ball Cat Toys for feeding dry food to my cat. This allows him to exercise while also slowing down his eating. I find them to be sturdy enough to get thrown around and banged up against walls and furniture without any breakage. I do wish they would unscrew so you could get inside to clean them better. I use a soapy sponge to wash the outside then fill the inside with hot soapy water, hold the opening shut with my finger and shake vigorously to wash the inside daily. I use a spoon to fill the larger of the 2 openings with dry cat food. If/when any kibble gets stuck I simply bang the ball lightly against the counter which dislodges the kibble. Easy breezy.
