I have a large scratch post that is all rope and Rocky uses it but it’s not his favorite. This has turned out to be his favorite scratch post. He is destroying the carpet piece after months of daily use. It does look pretty simple to get a new piece of fabric to replace. I like that it’s tall and he can stretch out while he scratches. The structure has held up nice and he doesn’t knock it over like the small posts.
Rocky is about 13lbs, 6yrs old, tons of energy and very playful. He loves to scratch everything so our house has a scratch post or pad in almost every room.

The cats love the scratching post, but the gray fabric on the bottom was completely frayed after a few days of use. I have never had a scratching post with this kind of fabric, but it does not hold up to clawing (2 cats). I will most likely cover it with a carpet remnant, as the sisal part on top is holding up great.

By the day after I received the scratching post my cats had already torn the fabric on the lower part of the post. Needless to say I was very disappointed in this product.

Bought two of these and the bases on both cracked and split in the exact same way after less than a month. This makes the post part very wobbly and not secure to the base.
Poor quality, cheap. Not worth buying.
Great... While it lasted :(

When I put this scratch post together, it seemed very sturdy. I have a 16 lb. cat, and another long skinny cat. This was big enough for them to reach up and stretch. Most cat scratchers aren't tall enough for them.
BUT... that didn't last long. Like another review said, the particle board at the base of the scratcher separated and now the post can lean to each side at about a 40 degree angle... not sturdy AT ALL anymore, after only about a month of use. Very disappointed.
Took a long time to get here

I can't give this item an honest rating right now (hence, only 1 star) and here's why: Since it was taking so long to arrive, I went out and purchased another scratching platform from a pet store, for our new crazy cat since he was using my loveseat as a scratching post. This one finally arrived, but I am now sick with Covid and am not motivated to open the box and assemble. My energy level is low. I know Chewy is probably getting buried in orders, especially for the Holidays, but I was hoping they'd hire more people to help with the heavy load and get orders filled and shipped in a more timely fashion.

Good size scratching post, but it did not hold up longer than 3 months. Both the carpeting on the base and post were pulled apart within the first month. I have a younger cat so that may have been part of the issue, but I was looking for something to last a little longer.

The carpeted part of the scratching post tore after less than one weeks use, would not recommend.

This post lasted about four months between my three cats. The rope and carpet did not hold up. I will try to repair it with new rope, but definitely won't buy it again.

My cat loves this toy but it lasted about 20 minutes before the carpet pulled apart. Photos are from day 3
