Flushability has been tested using standard residential piping. For best results, scoop on a daily basis and flush no more than 2 clumps at a time. Septic tank system disposal was not tested and is not recommended. Consult with relevant municipal authorities on flushing restrictions.

We bought this because it was cheap, making it a good bet for our needs - we THOUGHT. -A- we sometimes need a way to dispose of garbage (e.g. soaking up liquid substances before we put them in the trash) -B- we wanted an extra tub to put kitty litter in (say, when we get a bag with a hole in it) Thankfully, we can now afford better litter to use for our cats. So I won't even comment on the actual contents. But the packaging, good lord! I could not remove the sealing strip around the rim. Back when we had to use this dusty type of litter (Tidy Cat and cheaper brands), I often resorted to using needle nose pliers to save my fingers. I rolled it off sardine can style. But this lid didn't seem to be scored at all. I got a tiny section to START peeling off, but it was so brittle it snapped (scaring the daylights out of a nearby cat). I then resorted to a box cutter, but the blade broke off. Yes, it was so tough and thick it snapped a razor blade (one in a strong, secure holder). Next time, for our disposal needs, I'll buy a bag of the cheapest clay litter I can find at the local supermarket. And forget having a storage tub. I'll cover any holes in the bags with package tape. No matter what the price, this was NOT worth the frustration. … more

I have been using cat's pride for years. Our one remaining cat is 19.5 years old and now is NOT the time to change her litter! Some lids may be more challening, but the litter does the job for the price.
