Description

Help protect your furry pal from annoying pests that can spread disease with the Cedarcide Original Biting Insect Dog & Cat Spray. This chemical-free, lab-tested formula uses the power of plants—from natural cedar wood oil—to kill and repel fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, bed bugs, mites, and chiggers, with no toxins or DEET. To help control infestations on your pal, simply spray and massage into his coat anytime you need it, and let the formula work on contact—thanks to its lab-tested effectiveness of 99% kill rate for fleas. Not only will it work on any fleas and ticks that are on your pal, but it will help form a pest-repelling barrier when used regularly. Since it’s made with 100% natural, eco-friendly ingredients, it’s non-toxic and safe to use around the whole family, and it won’t stain clothes, fabrics, or upholstery. Plus, you will love the fresh cedar scent and its non-oily, quick-drying formula which makes for no more slippery coats!

  • Repel ticks with this

    By on

My cats actually were very scared of the smell of this. I put some on my hands and tried to pet them. The ran away immediately. It says to use sparingly so it's possible to get a little on the cats. You are not supposed to spray them, but just pet them with it on your hands. But I still think it's a good idea to get the product, because it's safe to use, and will repel ticks. Next time I will do it in a confined space, so they can't get away from me. I haven't really seen any ticks on them since, maybe one. I also use Frontline in addition. But they crawl through the bushes etc., and then bring live ticks in the house. So this will repel those ticks and keep us safer. I also will spray My cats actually were very scared of the smell of this. I put some on my hands and tried to pet them. The ran away immediately. It's oily so after you put on the pets, you will have oily hands to wash off. The smell does not bother me and I'm very sensitive to smells. I believe you are supposed to reapply every few days as the smell wears off. … more

  • Just too oily!

    By on

I am conflicted about this product. I absolutely would not reccomend it for use on dogs because it is so very oily that your dogs coat would be disgustingly oily. You wouldn't want your dog to get on any furniture or even the carpet. You can't use it on furniture or carpet, or even your outside deck...it oil stained my deck! BUTI sprayed it on myself, it was real greasy but it did work for 1 hour then I had to reapply it. And another thing..it smells like stink bugs, not cedar. So I guess I could recommend it for humans knowing that you will need to shower before going to bed!

  • Great for filling the Cedarcide Brush.

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I purchased this to fill the Cedarcide Brush. This brush is great if you have dogs that head for the hills when they see me with any kind of spray bottle heading for them. I do agree that there is some residual oil which is left on the dogs coat but since the brush deposits the product on the skin directly the brush is great for longer haired dogs, short haired too.

  • This works

    By on

I do like the way this worked, I sprayed it around my doors, in my dog pen and I sprayed my horses. I did not spray my dog or cat because the cedar smell is too overpowering for in the house. However, that stays around outside for several days, keeping the mosquitos away!

  • CHANGED INGREDIENTS: OILY and TOXIC!

    By on

I've been using the Original Cedarcide for a couple of years. Today I used my new bottle, not realizing that the ingredients changed. My American Bully's coat was so oily. We were slipping on our hard wood floors. Everything, including our leather couch had oil on it. Poison mineral oil and soybean oil.....yuck! I called the Cedarcide company to complain. I'm waiting for a call back from them. I'm so disgusted and disappointed......... I just ordered "Dr.Ben's Paws and Claws". It has the same ingredients as the old Cedarcide (Active: CEDAR OIL - 10%. Inactive: HYDRATED SILICA - 90%). I assume it will work as well too.

  • Fleas HATE this Stuff!!!

    By on

My dog is Pitbull cross Basenji and has the worst short/thick fur for trying to do spot-on flea treatments. I bought this along with a brush they sell here, you fill the handle with the liquid & it oozes out as you brush your pet. It works well. The fleas hate this stuff! It's safe for you, your pet, and it makes the home smell nice & woody! Most pets like to be groomed which is why I bought the brush to go with this. I just say "Brushy" and my Max is right there for his grooming & de-fleaing. You can spray this on carpets, furniture, it's safe, natural & versatile. But again, fleas HATE this!

I was using this every 2 to 3 days when I noticed a fleas, but they were scratching and biting theirselves more and more so I started using daily and it's was just not working I noticed more fleas on their bodies. For the price, I think that this product is a waste of money!!

  • Cedarcide works great

    By on

Seems to be working just fine, We have lots of those little ticks in our area and I get eat up with them. I sprayed Cedarcide on mr before I went to the woods and I only found one tick on me as opposed to twenty. Currently I think this stuff is worth the money and seems to work well for me.

  • Works well

    By on

Gets rid of the fleas for a few days, works really well to repel parasites. If it werent for the fact that my cats beg me not to put it on them every time (they are normally very cooperative kitties), I would give it 5 stars.
