    Amazing product

So, this year has been AWFUL for ticks in Maine. After each walk (every day) with my dog, I was pulling off upwards of 30 ticks every single day. I was so desperate, I started using bug spray with DEET in it just to see if it would help quell the ticks. I decided on a whim to try this, and by god... this stuff WORKS!!! I'm not saying it's infallible, but I'm going from pulling 30+ ticks off my poor pup to about ~10. That's 2/3 less ticks!! It's seriously a HUGE improvement. Please note, I'm living in a tick INFESTED area, and have done extensive work to reduce ticks around my yard, etc., but when we are on walks along the road, there is little else you can do besides medicate (I do), spray (I So, this year has been AWFUL for ticks in Maine. THANK YOU FOR THIS AWESOME SPRAY!!! My pup smells like a closet, but we aren't fighting the ticks nearly as bad! And no DEET! … more

    Play mosquito free

    By on

The mosquito's, black flies, ticks and horse flys have been horrendous this year. Primarily the mosquito's with all the rain we had. Cedarcide gave my two pups the relief from the bugs they needed. They now enjoy being outside without being food for the bugs. I have used it on myself when outside weeding the gardens and before I put it on the horse flies were buzzing all around me. As soon as I put this on they left me alone.

    Kills ticks and fleas!

    By on Top 500 Contributor

All natural and kills ticks and fleas. I'm very pleased with this purchase. My first thoughts were, it's very expensive, that Cedarcide was too oily, but as it dried, it was not oily. The first smell of Cedarcide left me wondering whether, I liked it or not, but the smell leaves quickly, or i just got used to it. I've been using Cedarcide for about two weeks now and I will never be without it, because Cedarcide works!!! The price is worth it because my dogs and cats are now tick and flea free. I love the fact that Cedarcide is safe for my pets and my family. My favorite way to use it, is in a spray bottle. I spray my pets every time they come into the house from outside. No more ticks or fleas All natural and kills ticks and fleas. I'm very pleased with this purchase. Keep you pets flea free without chemicals

    By on

I love this stuff!. It tops fleas dead in their tracks! I had an outbreak this year (first time in several years) when I rescued a new dog. I sprayed the dogs, their bedding, the upholstered furniture, and the floors - problem solved!!! will spray again once a week for a month to make sure I get all of the little biters. House smells like a cedar chest, as do the dogs - no cancer causing agents here AND NO FLEAS!

    Cedarcide spray

    By on

I ordered this on the the recommendation of a friend, and I am very, very happy with it. My dogs live in a tick infested area. This really works to repel the ticks. It wears away in a few hours, so sprays at least twice a day is recommended. This will also kill ticks, so I'm very impressed. Too bad it doesn't work on black flies, but it doesn't advertise that it will. Just wishful thinking.

    Great natural product!

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I'll be adding it to my autoship! Pros: Works as an effective repellant Can reuse as needed safely Hasn't hurt any of my more sensitive fur babies skin Scent dissipates within 2 hours with even partial ventilation Can be used in tandem with other products without fear of overdosing on chemicals Cons: Strong initial scent Doesn't kill bugs, only repels as far as I seen Overall, definitely worth using WITH other products. I use it for my door ways, patio, porch, and window ledges, then I use advantage spray (~$7 a can) on my furniture, cherestin (~$60 for 6 months worth) virbac (~$25) on carpet, and ovitrol (~$15) on more delicate things like clothes and mattresses. Nice Option!

Love the fragrance. It is used in addition to topical flea treatments for my cats. When used with the application brush it's a win for kitties and me. As always read and follow the directions for use.

    Not buying again

This stuff is not worth the bottle it's in. Doesn't do anything to repel flies and doesn't smell cedar-y at tall. I was expecting a quality product for this amount of $$$ Very disappointed! Will not buy again.

Safe and Effective Holistic Flea and Tick Treatment

    By on

I have been using cedar oil on my giant Newfoundland dogs for many years as a safe and effective flea and tick treatment. The dense coat of these dogs makes detecting ticks nearly impossible. Cedar oil is a proven holistic non-toxic preventative for humans and dogs and cats.I live in a hot, humid tick-infested climate and this product works very well. Cedarcide contains 10% cedar oil, more than double the concentration of most available prepartions. If you are in doubt, spray it on a tick an it will be dead in minutes. I killed a black-legged deer tick(carrier of Lyme Disease) in just 5 minutes that was crawling on my chai rin just 5 minutes. To get around this, you can rub it in their coat, or Cedarcide makes a brush which you fill with cedarcide liquid and your dog won't mind it. All in all, a fantastic holistic product for those concerned about the proven toxicity of spot-on products such as frontline or internal medications veterinarians are using. Numerous studies have shown frontline is absorped in the internal organs of a dog. With increasing rates of canine cancer, I certainly don't want to give my dog finipronil(Frontline) which is actually a toxic insecticide used on crops. All in all, a fantastic holistic alternative to the toxic preventatives on the market for those of us who really care about the health of our furried friends. … more

    Great Natural Product

    By on

I live in the desert of far West Texas. I don't have electricity so I don't have air conditioning. I found this product here on Chewy and read the reviews. The most offensive aspect of the product, according to reviews, is the scent. I figured I'd give it a try. My nearest neighbor is three miles away. It's dark out here in the expanse of stars and velvety night sky. You can imagine what a single light attracts! I use solar lights to line my driveway and more solar lights to outline my memory garden. These attract Miller's, moths, flies, gnats and all matter of flying insect! The bats do a good job of swooping and eating them, but summertime is long. I leave my doors and windows open to survive I live in the desert of far West Texas. The bats do a good job of swooping and eating them, but summertime is long. I leave my doors and windows open to survive the temperatures. At midnight in June it's still 100 degrees. I have screens and a screen curtain with magnetic closure on the back double doors of my cabin, but it just isn't enough to keep the bugs out. The squash bugs/assassin/kissing bugs are the worst! So far, I have used this around the windows and doors (on the screens) and it works well for about an hour or two. Then you have to reapply. I don't mind because it's non-toxic and it won't hurt my dogs or cats. It won't hurt my garden or the birds either. I like to sit out in my memory garden in the evenings and listen to music. The moths and bugs do fly around you and annoy you. I sprayed this around the area where I sat and on my arms and legs that were exposed and for an hour or more nothing bothered me. However, once I sprayed this the little freetail bats that fly overhead eating the bugs steered clear for a bit. I didn't care for that. I don't think I will spray the air or foliage again. All in all I find the product to be beneficial and effective. I will definitely repurchase. I recommend this product to campers or anyone else who will be sans air-conditioning or out in nature. … more
