Centragard is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and for the treatment and control of roundworms (adult and fourth stage larval Toxocara cati), hookworms (adult and fourth stage larval Ancylostoma tubaeforme; adult Ancylostoma braziliense), and tapeworms (adult Dipylidium caninum and Echinococcus multilocularis) in cats and kittens 7 weeks of age and older and 1.8 lbs or greater.
In a well-controlled field study emesis, anorexia, lethargy, temporary clumping or spiking of the hair, or mild, transient skin reactions (itching, hair loss) were reported. When cats licked the application site after treatment, temporary excessive salivation was observed. Oral ingestion of CENTRAGARD may also result in hypersalivation, vomiting and/or lethargy. In margin of safety studies, transient neurological signs such as ataxia, disorientation, lethargy, and pupil dilation were observed in some cats. Correct application will minimize the occurrence of such events.
Talk to your veterinarian about any other drugs your cat is taking before starting this medication.
Do not administer orally. Cats may salivate excessively and vomit if Centragard is accidentally administered orally or is ingested through licking/grooming the application site (see ANIMAL SAFETY). The safety of Centragard has not been tested in breeding, pregnant or lactating cats. The safety of Centragard has not been tested in kittens less than 7-9 weeks of age or weighing less than 1.8 lbs (0.8 kg).
74.7 mg Praziquantel, 3.6 mg Eprinomectin.
Centragard is dosed at a minimum of 0.055 mL/lb (0.12 mL/kg), which delivers a minimum dose of 0.23 mg/ lb eprinomectin and 4.55 mg/lb praziquantel. Administer the entire contents of a Centragard unit applicator topically once a month as specfied in the following table:
Store at or below 86°F (30°C) with excursions permitted to 104°f (40°c). Protect from light.
Centragard is also approved to treat and control three of the most common intestinal parasites of cats -- hookworms, roundworms, and tapeworms. It is the first, and only, product to protect against this spectrum of parasites in an easy-to-use transdermal formulation.
Even indoor cats are at risk of exposure to these parasites. According to the American Heartworm Society, 1 in 4 cats diagnosed with heartworm disease are indoor only pets.
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease that can affect dogs, cats, and other animals. The risk of heartworms is widespread in the U.S. Heartworms are transmitted by infected mosquitoes. Mosquitoes become infected with heartworm microfilariae while taking a blood meal from an infected dog, and then can transmit the heartworms to cats. Once in the cat, heartworm larvae develop in the cat’s tissues and then migrate to the bloodstream. They reach the blood vessels of the heart and lungs in a few months.

My kitten had a severe case of worms when i first got her and the vet recommended giving her dewormer for several months after they treated her. i used this a few times on her and she gets lethargic every time i put this on her. i thought this would be easier than a pill, but she seems to have a reaction to it so i'm not sure if this is great for all cats.
My vet recommended this and it is a quality product for your loved ones!
Easy to administer because instructions were so clear, step-by-step.
Giving a pill to a cat is already a huge feat in itself. My full grown, adult cat is only 6.5lbs, so her mouth and throat are pretty small. Getting a pill (and ALL of it at that) is difficult and traumatic for her and ourselves. As a 50/50 indoor/outdoor kitty, she works as excellent pest control on our property. As such, she’s so prone to worms that keeping her healthy requires monthly treatments. This product has come in clutch!! It was easy for all of us, the kitty was none the wiser during a snuggle session and best of all, it WORKED. Yes, she was a bit oily the first 24-36 hours where it had been applied, but she spent most of that time romping around outside so it wasn’t an issue for us. A very minor inconvenience to a very convenient option. I highly recommend this. Turn around on both Chewy and our Vet’s part was amazing. We had it on our doorstep in less than 72hrs.
This doesn't smell as strong as the Revolution. However the next day fur around the ruff is oily and at the tips of the fur has a white powdery substance when dries. My other cat keeps trying to lick it off him. Wouldn't recomend.
Our Veterinarian recommended Centragard for our indoor/ out door cat who likes to bring us gifts. We live on an old farm with very old barns. We needed Chewy to verify the Rx from the vet which took less than 36 hours and we had the Centragard with in 72 hours of the Vet visit. The auto replenishment will be very convenient as we will not have to make repeated visits to the veterinarian.
My cats are prone to eating fleas and getting tapeworms. Yuck. I know. But this product works wonders! I suggest using it monthly, not as a one time thing. Our kitties constantly lick fleas off of themselves (even while on Advantage II) and occasionally swallow one. THIS PRODUCT WORKS!
Getting the preventive medicine for my indoor/outdoor (daytime) beloved cat was much easier than I expected. Just a click, my Vet found in their list, and Chewy took care of the rest. Lori
Easy to use on my cats. They are hard to catch, but was so easy to apply.
I was prescribed this from my vets and my cat was rid of the worms within a few days it seemed. He is an outsider/inside cat. He loves to hunt big and small game.. this helps him stay safe
