Not the best experience I've had with Chewy

By WillS on Oct 9, 2020

I've always had a great experience with Chewy, never a complaint, but this one was more difficult than it should have been. The vet where this prescription originated said they couldn't phone the script in, I had to mail the paper prescription to Chewy, so I did. After 10 days the order was still pending I've always had a great experience with Chewy, never a complaint, but this one was more difficult than it should have been. The vet where this prescription originated said they couldn't phone the script in, I had to mail the paper prescription to Chewy, so I did. After 10 days the order was still pending so I contacted customer service to check the status and was told it would go faster if I had Chewy contact the vet directly. I was a bit confused about why Chewy could contact the vet when they had said I must mail the script, but the vet appeared in Chewy's drop-down list of approved veterinarians, so I changed the order to "contact my vet for me". After a few more days the order was still pending so I called the vet and was told they do not accept requests from online pharmacies at all and simply ignore the requests. I contacted customer support again to check on the status of the mailed-in script and they couldn't find it. It had now been a little over 2 weeks and the script hadn't even been received into their system yet. I know the USPS was taking longer than usual, but first class mail was being delivered within a week at most instead of the usual 2 or 3 days. Taking over a week to receive it into the system, let alone process the order, seems a little excessive. But more importantly, why was having Chewy contact this vet offered as an option, and the vet was still in the list of vets to choose from, when it had a long-standing policy of not honoring any requests from online pharmacies? This added another 3 or 4 days to the delay in receiving a much-needed medication. Vets that do not honor prescription requests should be removed from the list of approved veterinarians and customers should know that Chewy contacting the vet is not an option for them. Finally, 3 weeks after I mailed the script, it was received into the system and the order was processed. The pharmacy experience would be better if 1) vets that don't honor script requests were excluded from the 'let Chewy contact the vet for you" option, and 2) the process for receiving mailed-in scripts was faster. … more

    Maybe One star

By Pickybean on Jul 29, 2020

It too way too long for this medication to be delivered. After a lot of back and forth about not being able to talk to my vet, my vet’s office, fax not working, my vets office saying they where not contacted at all, will not use this option again. Poor customer service
