To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

Not recommended for dogs who pull
By Panda on Apr 14, 2021
My pup Panda is a sturdy mixed breed/American Staffordshire gal who always tries to take the lead. I had gotten the Chai’s choice set(harness/collar/lead) in that fantastic fuchsia because she was getting confused for a boy but the way this harness sits around the neck and the positioning of the lead attachment ring on top causes the bottom section to pull into her throat above her collar bone no matter how it is adjusted and the bottom ring pulls the top section aggressively into her spine forward of the shoulders. I noticed she started rasping while trying to bark and discontinued use before any damage was done to her throat. THANK YOU CHEWY
By PEPPER on Apr 15, 2021
I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR BEING SO UNDERSTANDING ON MY ORDER FOR THE HARNESS. I MADE A MISTAKE AND ORDERED A BROWN ONE, YOU WERE KIND ENOUGH TO LET ME REPLACE WITH THE BLACK ONE. UNFORTUNATELY, PEPPER WOULDN'T MOVE WITH THE HARNESS ON AND I DIDN'T WANT TO DRAG HER. I HAVE TAKEN BOTH OF HARNESS'S TO HAVEN HUMAN SOCIETY TODAY AS A DONATION PER YOUR REQUEST. IF YOU NEED PROFF, THEY SIGNED THE PAPER WORK I TOOK WITH ME AND WILL MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND YOU A COPY, JUST LET ME KNOW. THANK YOU, SUE AND PEPPER

Not escape proof
By Mickey on Apr 11, 2021
Love this harness overall it is good, however when trying the front clip my girl got out of it. She is a rescue and only 14# and proved that this harness is not escape proof. It is good in the car seat I purchased for her but she keeps getting her front leg out of it so I have to keep checking when getting her out and putting her down. Thought of returning it but I think I will keep it as a spare as I like the quality.

Came off seams within a month
By Arch on Apr 12, 2021
I had bought this and it came off it's seams in the front within a weeks time and I assumed maybe my pup got a hold of this somehow and did that so I ordered another exactly same one and for this I took special care never to leave in my pups access and exactly same thing happened now within a months time.... so it's the inferior quality of the product it seems and I ended up wasting money twice on it.

Too small and not the right design for my big girl
By gracie94 on Mar 16, 2021
My 60lb dog measures 28" at the girth so I got the size Large that measures 27-32". Even all the way loosened it was too tight. It was overall too small and the padding on top was tight, small, and restrictive on the shoulders. The front/belly padding fit too high up on the neck and was too short around the armpit area so there was no padding protecting the armpits from the straps. Additionally, I didn't realize it prior to purchase but the back leash clip sits almost at the base of the neck, instead of behind the shoulders. With the front padding up high on the neck and the leash clip placement, this harness basically acts like a collar, so it's not good for pullers and doesn't relieve the neck My 60lb dog measures 28" at the girth so I got the size Large that measures 27-32". Overall it is well made and the teal color is very pretty. I have paid much more for harnesses that didn't feel as sturdy and well made as this one. I also purchased the Chai's Choice Outdoor Adventure Harness in the same size and the design is MUCH better in terms of padding, leash clip placement, armpit protection, etc. It runs small as well but the Large does comfortably fit my girl. … more

Been using it for 2 months and was hopeful at first but
By Rika on Mar 12, 2021
We've been using this harness for our dog with the intention of using it as a front facing harness to aid with walking. It was working at first but over time we realized that it would adjust itself while in use (it would move left or right and loosen itself depending on the direction we would walk) and even if you re-adjusted it, it would loosen itself again. The sizing is a bit odd for larger dogs (we have a german sehpard mix) and I don't think other large dog breed owners should pick this harness especially if you're using it for the front leash option. Tldr; smaller dog breeds (even medium) would recommend! Larger breeds (especially with strong pullers) maybe reconsider

better walks for both of us!
By WiggleBean on Mar 28, 2021
Got a large for my 40 pound boxer and it fit perfectly! It is almost as tight as it can be in most places but with her broad chest we usually have to size up, so I was very happy with how adjustable this was! The harness seems well made and sturdy and has made walks much more enjoyable for both of us. We’ve just been using the back clip since she’s not a heavy puller and it has reduced the pulling she does do almost completely!

Runs very small
By MaggieB on Mar 10, 2021
I bought this harness since it appeared to be more adjustable than the one I had which my dog could pull out of and it has an attachment ring under his chest which should help stop his pulling. At the biggest part, his chest measured just under 25 inches so I got the medium which said it was for a 22-27 inch chest. Upon putting it on and adjusting the chest portion, I had to extend it to the maximum that it would go and it just barely fit. The portion around the neck I adjusted easily and he cannot pull out of it. So I would advise you to buy one size larger unless your dog's chest is at the very lowest end of the recommended sizing.

Could be better
By jesskru on Mar 11, 2021
Ordered two of these harnesses for the two of my dogs. They both fit loosely around the neck even at the tightest setting (even though they're within the measurements for the harness). Well, yesterday afternoon my 1.5 year old American Bully decided she wanted to get a stray cat she saw, and slipped right out of this harness. We had to chase her several blocks (we rescued her less than a year ago and are still working on her listening skills) in order to get her. We initially ordered her a size down, but it was way too tight on her chest, even though she is nearly 2" under the largest measurement for this to fit her chest, so Chewy sent us a size up. If your dogs proportions are close to the outside of these Size requirements, please be careful with your pup! As for the second harness, it is too big for my other dog around the neck on the smallest setting, but a Size down is again too small on this dogs chest as well. With her, it's not as much of an issue as the harness is really only used so she doesn't pull and hurt herself on walks because she's kind of crazy! We were hoping for something more beefy than our last harnesses that kept our bully from escaping, but this is not that harness. Chewy, if you have a recommendation on a different, better fitting, harness for escape artists, please let me know. Thank you … more

Best harness
By Karina on Jan 30, 2021
I love this harness! I’ve ordered two in the past. The first one I ordered was blue and I ended up giving to my sister’s dog because they loved it so much. I bought another in bright red. It looks so good against my dog’s black and white coat. He looks like a puppy again! If I ever need to grab my dog quickly or just hold him in place for a second, the handle on the back is great for that. He weighs 35-40 lb and the handle has never broken or come unstitched. The front hook is EXTREMELY helpful to reduce pulling on a walk. The back hook is very sturdy and helpful as well. I had to loosen the straps because it was a tad tight around his chest. Overall a great harness. 10/10
