Size

To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

    Great harness

By Jill on Mar 29, 2021

Iv’e been searching for a harness for my mini aussiedoodle. This is the one! She has a habit of planting her feet down when she doesn’t want to move which allows most harnesses to pull right off, this harness stays put. I also purchased for my aunts dog who has a lot of anxiety and was able to confidently bring her on a walk for the first time in over a year. Couldn’t be happier and the delivery was 2 days!

    good for Houdini’s

By kenw on May 5, 2021

I have a 5 month old coonhound/German shepherd mix that could find his way out of any harness I got him, I have yet to have my boy escape this one. If you have a Houdini I’d recommend this harness.

Don't buy this if you have a Chewer!

    By jmcniel1972 on Feb 20, 2021

I have a large puppy (American Bulldog mix 9 months old), who has never worn a harness. I put this on him, and left it on so he could get used to it. He went and laid in his crate while I made supper and when I checked on him 20 minutes later, her had the strap that runs from the neck to the belly chewed through. We will be buying a different harness, and only wearing it to go for walks from now on. It will go on before the leash, and off as soon as we come in. I can't even with this dog! On the plus side, It went on easy, and was not difficult to adjust. It's just too expensive to replace if it is going to be destroyed in 20 minutes time.

    Poor strength

By Becca on May 5, 2021

We got this for my malinois and she broke the adjusters in the front within 2 months and the third broke a buckle. If your dog is a hard puller with a strong drive, DO NOT GET THIS!

    It's okay..

By HHol on Apr 21, 2021

I was looking for one that my miniature pinscher couldn't slip out of but this doesn't work for dogs with broad chest, which min pins are known for. Sadly not gunna work for my little guy.

    Perfect for my escape artist!

By CherilynB on Feb 27, 2021

This is the sixth harness I have bought for my dog in three months. He’s an American Foxhound mix, so he’s skinny in the shoulders but has a big barrel chest. Previous harnesses either didn’t fit right (either too big in the shoulders or too tight around his chest), and the few that did fit were too easy for him to slip out of. As a former stray, he has struggled with leash training because he longs for sweet, sweet freedom (never mind that the freedom of his past gave him major worm infestations and skin infections, but I digress). As a result, it’s essential that we have a harness that A) fits properly and B) doesn’t allow him to escape. I was a little nervous ordering this one since the size chart only shows one measurement (@ manufacturers: please change this!), but we got lucky and it fits like a glove. The adjustable straps tighten and extend a lot, which was a huge help in making sure this was a snug fit. The strap between the front legs combined with the extra strap around his belly makes this one nice and secure—and believe me, my dog has tested it. His usual backing up/twisting/pulling methods don’t get him anywhere close to getting out of this thing. It barely even moves! So, he may be bummed about that- but I’m grateful for the peace of mind. … more

    Big body, small head

By Boyses on Mar 11, 2021

My dog is a Lab/Chihuahua mix. He's got a Lab's body with a Chihuahua's head! This is the only harness he hasn't slipped out of! My Jack Russell mix is an escape artist. The worst he's been able to do with this harness is to twist it until it's on upside down.

    Excellent Control

By LucyLee on Feb 11, 2021

My stubborn dog has figured out how to plant her feet and back out of traditional harnesses. She has not been successful with this harness; the second belly strap keeps her inside her harness. She doesn't mind the strap after taking only a minimum time to become accustomed to it. Good quality strapping and easy to put on.

    Harness is great!

By CMRS on Mar 7, 2021

We ordered this for our 1 yr old schnoodle that is able to squirm out of most harnesses. The extra strap on this harness does not allow this squirmy dog to get out of it!

    Nice harness

By DoodlesMom on Dec 27, 2020

Like the harness as it prevents choking if Doodle pulls which was exactly what I was looking for, very sturdy and easy to get off and on. I would have given a 5 but as other reviewers have stated the sizing is way off. After measuring I should have gotten the extra small, glad I read the reviews and sized up. Even sizing up I have the harness out as far as it goes. So really well made harness but poor sizing.
