The low calorie count of each Charlee Bear treat means you can treat your dog often throughout the day. The exact number of treats a dog should eat in a day depends on the size of the dog, the breed, the current activity level and whether or not the dog is currently overweight. Work with your vet to determine an ideal weight for your dog. You can use low calorie Charlee Bear Treats instead of high calorie rewards to provide a way to reduce calories and still keep the fun of rewarding and training.
Please store in a cool dry place after opening.
Our Charlee Bear Dog Treats are manufactured in the USA. Our goal is to provide the most wholesome, delicious treats that your dog will love.
Puppies come in many different sizes and temperaments. It is important for you to use your good judgment and understand your puppy. If your puppy is old enough to chew and swallow kibble our treats should be fine. It is always important to observe your puppy when giving a treat to see if he/she is chewing and swallowing properly. When puppies are overly excited they may forget to chew. In an excited state any puppy could gulp something without chewing and cause choking so pet parents should be aware of potential problems. We would suggest waiting until at least 12 weeks of age before using any type of treat, and consulting with your veterinarian about appropriate treats for the specific breed, size and age of your puppy.
Many old dogs love Charlee Bears because they are easy to chew and our simple ingredients make them easy to digest.
Although our treat is all natural and wholesome it was not formulated as a complete diet and should not be used as a food replacement on a regular basis.
Each Charlee Bear Treat weighs less than 1g and is less than 3 calories. A typical medium size dog biscuit has 36 calories. This means that you can give your dog 12 Charlee Bear Treats and still be giving fewer calories than if you gave 1 medium size dog biscuit.
The dog on the package was Zach and he was a Charlee Bear Dog, a type of mixed breed that was bred in the 1990's. He weighed around 50 lbs. He helped start our business and came to all meetings. He was the company inspiration and still is our symbol.
We have researched the current concern about garlic and have been advised that at the level it is in our treats it does not present any problem. This tiny bit of garlic has always been a part of our recipe and we believe it helps give it the flavor dogs love. We have been making Charlee Bears for over 25 years and all of us have been giving them to our dogs for all of that time
Our original treats have salt added at a very low level. Salt is about 1/3 sodium. The cheese and egg are slightly higher in salt/sodium due to the naturally occurring salt in cheese. Your dog would need to eat more than 1 - half bag of ch&egg treats, more than 250 treats and over 1 full bag, around 500 treats, of the other flavors, at 1 time to ingest 1g of sodium.
Our treats are considered low in calcium and magnesium and may contain small amounts of phosphorus from liver and wheat. A rough estimate on phosphorus would be .002 grams of a 1g treat.
Our treats are low in fat. Due to the small size of each treat there would be less than .05 grams of fat per treat in the Cheese&Egg Flavor and less than .03 grams of fat per treat in other flavors. A dog would need to eat 20 Cheese&Egg treats to get 1g of fat or 33 treats of any other flavor to get 1g of fat.
All of our flavors are regularly tested and have a minimum level of 18% protein. Dogs love the taste of real liver, cheese and eggs in our treats and those ingredients provide a good level of protein.
These treats aren't the best of the best but they are pretty good for lots of reasons. They are cheap so you can feed a lot, easy to feed, and they do not crumble. They are also easy for the dogs to see if you toss treats to your dog. I find that when the dogs are all together in a group everyone eats them just fine but when there is no competition, my cockers prefer liver, tripe or chicken hearts but when I'm watching other dogs I can't afford to give them all the expensive treats and they are happy to get these. Overall I like them and use them daily for casual training rewards.
Training standard poodles can be a challenge when you do not have the perfect treats. The Charlee bear treats are low calories and keep well in the training bag even left out. The poodles love them. Easy to use and easy to clean up when you drop the bag. Great product. We use them all the time in training. We have tried many of the flavors. One of the poodles favorite is the liver flavor.
When my human gave me these, I thought ' thanks but they're awfully small'. They fit well in my puzzle. Then my human found out that they don't stain or make a pocket smell bad and now keeps some in their pocket all the time. This is great because I get a lot more, they taste good and at 3 calories, no fatting. Life is good, I have to watch my girlish figure too.
We have had Charlee Bear treats as a staple in this house for years! There are so many flavors that you can choose from (which is great if you have a dog with allergies) and less than 3 calories each! Bailey and Sophie can struggle with gaining weight off treats, so we love that they are low in calories so they still get a treat for being the best girls! Also great for training pups since they are bite sized and low in calories while they get rewarded for everything still! Our treat jar is always filled with this little goodies and we highly recommend them!!
I always buy and stock up this Charlee Bear crunch thing! I got it all different flavors and my baby's happy with that!
My dog absolutely enjoyed these new treats! He is quite particular about certain types of treats, but once we opened the bag he instantly was interested in trying. We love the sizing of the treats making them easy to use for training!
Heard good things about Charles Bear. Loved the tiny size. And because they’re firm they’re easy to throw in my pocket with a mess. Unfortunately my dog kept spitting them back out. I should have not encourage him to continue to try them. He did actually consume about 6 or so and shortly thereafter was belching like a person. I can’t risk continuing to try them. Boxers have sensitive skin and stomachs so I am going to give this bag away.
My 9 pounder loves these. Low calorie treat. Don’t feel guilty giving these to her.
Charlee Bear Liver Treats are the best little snack especially if you don't want your dog to get over weight. We've been giving them to our dogs for several years and they all love them.
MY seniors love all flavors of Charlee Bear treats. Absolutely great!
