My dog LOVES to fetch balls! My arm gets tired from throwing it over and over again, so this is the best product for this game! AND, you can pick up the ball with the "chuck-it" handle, the balls that go with it are super strong, and my 4 year old grandson can use it and the balls go farther!
Are they using defective plastic?
I have been buying Chuck It products for years. Multiple launchers in various sizes, the flying Squirrel, the volleyball sized ball with notches. The products have lasted forever. My medium size launcher finally was done after many years of play. I bought a replacement at a Pet Store and it cracked and slowly the crack spread to where you couldnt use it. I bought another one on Chewy.com about a month ago. I went to use it this morning. The ball was stuck in the launcher, so it flew from my hand and hit the driveway. I realize this isnt supposed to happen, but I never expected this PLASTIC toy to basically shear and break in a fairly thick part of the shaft. I really think that the material is not the same and not nearly as durable as it used to be. Tough cause the product is fantastic, but I am questioning the quality of the plastic. PS, I bought a bunch of the rubber balls, which are way more durable than the fuzzy tennis ball ones.
Rubber ball is better
I bought this to save my elbow and because one of my two dogs bites tennis balls. It allows you to launch the ball so much further for optimum exercise. If it shipped with the rubber ball instead of a standard tennis ball I would rate it five stars since most dogs will destroy the tennis ball in a matter of minutes.
We like this thrower but I ordered the wrong length. I guess the longer one works best for throwing farther. I also wish there was a thrower for the small size balls. Our small dog prefers that size.
Great for winter
My dog will not fetch anything too far, so using this for the purpose of whipping it further than I can throw was not the reason I purchased. She loves to fetch and instead of having to grab an icy drool covered tennis ball in the winter I use the chuck it stick which has made our playtime way better! This is our second stick because she chewed the plastic off the top and horked it up a week later. Beware don’t leave out around your dog!
the launcher is great but.......
the ball is not meant for a lab - it was punctured in minutes. but I bought a 3 inch round Kong ball and now we've got a great launcher
Lasted about 10 minutes
Ball was bigger than a tennis ball and very poor quality. The outside started to come off as soon as our puppy got it in his mouth and the ball split the first trip to the dog park. Due to the size of the launcher being made for an oversized tennis ball, the launcher cannot be used with a regular sized tennis ball.
Great dog toy
Our dog loves tennis balls! He will play with them for a long time. I hate slobbery tennis balls, so this is super helpful!
My husband was in an accident and hasn’t been able to throw ball with our dogs. This allows him to continue throwing with them and works great!
Yes - new chuckits inferior materials
I loved the chuckit ball launchers, but recently I had TWO replacement launchers break, both within 6-8 weeks of purchase. Obviously they are now making them with inferior plastic materials.
