Problem solved!
For some reason, my cats refuse to use the scratching boards we have. They were using the door frames for their clawing activities. I tried various products to stop them, but none worked. I purchased the tape as a last resort. It went on super easy and the first time they tried to claw the doorpost has been their last. It worked fantastic. Monkee (my younger cat) took one swipe at it and jumped back! He sat there looking at me as if to say. "What did you do?" I haven't tried taking the strips off yet, so I don't know if it will harm the wood, but I am totally satisfied with the results of this purchase.
Trying it out
I'm trying out the strips on one chair before I remove the sheets on the others to make sure it works. At first Henry was curious and jumped on the chair where the strip was until he was stuck. So far I think it's working. I think I will uncover one chair at a time. When I can under all of them I'll give it a 5!
Awful to remove off counters
These were great to put on furniture to deter cats from scratching. They did not work to keep my cats off the counters, but removing these was absolutely awful. It left part of this sticky stuff on the counter. I have to take a straight razor to try to scrape it off and hopefully not scratch my counters. They are not easily removed from counters whatsoever.
Terrible
I have put these over my chairs I am trying to protect. They literally come off very easily. They won't adhere to my fabric chairs. I am very disappointed with this product. I will have to find something else. I will never buy these again.
Great Deterrent, Bad for Tape Goblins
These are very good to help protect your couch or furniture. The install was painless and stayed on with ease. However, if you have a cat that is fascinated by tape and enjoys gnawing at it then this may not be the best product for you. While it did prevent her from scratching the couch, her attraction to biting tape led us to removing it.
Poor Kitty
I have a cat who wants to scratch the wood work around a door. Put it up and she moves to another door. But it definitely stops her.
Works Great
Easy strips wide enough to detour my cat from scratching and super easy to apply. I used on a material couch and painted counter--removal was easy with zero damage. Also, I used an idea from Jackson Galaxy and put on cardboard (he suggests placemats) that I move on/off the kitchen counters based on if I'm in the middle of cooking or if she could get into anything. That has worked well also.
AWESOME deterrent
These strips work great! I highly recommend! After I removed them, my cats do not touch my furniture.
Didn’t work for us
It didn’t stick to my velvet furniture at all. Total waste of money
