CLAWGUARD

This product might be good for people who are looking to put this tape in small areas. It is difficult to use. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. I was disappointed.

Works as long as it’s on

This worked like a charm for my cat who loves to be on the counters. Immediately. The problem is that a week after I took the tape off, he figured out that it was safe to jump again. The roll is a big one, so I have more on now, and he is not jumping again. He is a stubborn cat though. Very determined, so it may work Immediately for a cat who takes no for an answer.

CLAWGUARD CAT TRAINING TAPE

Do not hesitate to buy this. You take your chances with anything you buy, however, this truly works for me. At first it it easy to put on, the next time you put it on you have to think outside of the box so I cut the length I needed for my sofa and cut a small piece off the edge so I could work it across. Alot easier if 2 people do it but gosh darn it.........it works!!! My Ruby does not go near it. Wish I found this sooner as she did some damage to the front of sofa. I am buying more........I would not steer you wrong--no odor, I had no problem taking it off as I have a microfiber sofa and no material came off. Great deal, give it a try..P.s. when she loses some toys under the sofa she just gives up. There is just something about it....Cats do not like sticky things......it truly works for me and I am giving this 10 stars...like I said, it is easier if 2 people do it but all in all a wonderful product and you can use it anywhere.

It works, but

It kept my cats from clawing at things but when I took it off it ripped the paint right off with it! Cautiously apply this to things when using.

Works but pulls furniture

This definitely works but for my cat I have to leave it on all the time. Then it becomes covered with dog hair in the air and then when it needs to be replaces, it pulls at the furniture so it is creating it's own damage. My cat also just seems to find another spot to claw.

Pros & Cons to this product

The concept of this product is genius, however, when I applied it to my door jams where my cats love to climb, it was extremely difficult because it was not working properly. I am relatively certain that the roll I had was defective because every time I went to apply it, the clear tape would tear with every single go around of the roll. I managed to get it put up, with much difficulty, and once it was installed it worked GREAT! Because of the defect, I had to use twice as much and it's not inexpensive. So, in my opinion, the tape is a great and effective idea, so I may try to look for another company that makes it next time I need some.

Seems to be doing its job!

I had a really hard time getting the backing off the tape. The instructions say to cut off a piece, stick it to the furniture and then remove the backing, but that method proved to be impossible for me. I ended up figuring out that the easiest way to get the backing off was to stick a corner of the tape to my finger and pull it away. I lost tiny corners this way but that’s fine. As for effectiveness, only one of our cats messed with it for the first few days - she tried to peel it off the corner of the box spring - but eventually she gave up and now she just claws a non-corner part of the box spring. So basically unless I cover the entire box spring in this stuff, I can’t win. The cats always win. It totally worked on our couch, though - neither of our girls have touched that!

Perfect Solution

Searched for wide double sided clear tape in 5 different stores. Nothing was wide enough. This tape is plenty wide and clear and easy to use!!

Removes fibers from fabric

Sticks well to fabric furniture but as a result it does pull fabric fibers off. Once you remove the tape you will see that it took off a lot of the fibers, which is an unwanted result.
