How does this attach to the door?

To install this shield, you can place it on the doorknob or secure it with the optional hook-and-loop fastener; includes an optional velcro disc.
Is the hole for the door knob precut? If so is it in the middle? I need more coverage on the wall than on the door and from the pictures it only appears to cover a couple of inches of the wall.

This Shield does have a pre-cut slot for the door knob however, it can be customized to fit any area with scissors.
Can this be used on exterior of door? Our dog scratches to get in.

This product is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The door I want to use this on opens inward. Can this shield be used for that? We are trying to get our cat to stop scratching the weather stripping and tearing it up.

Declining Quality

I have now bought 6 of these for the three sets of wood French doors. The very first one purchase approximately 5 years ago was great. Thick plastic it hung flat and they included quality Velcro to apply to the outer edge 2 years ago we bout 2 more. This time the plastic would not lay flat and they included a gooey clear substance to hold the outer corner - not sure how this will effect the finish on our wooden doors. Last month I bought the final set hoping it reverted back to the original quality, no such luck. The plastic curled and this time they sent a 1 inch square of plastic Velcro that the would not hold at all AND the peel and stick adhesive did not hold. If you purchase these be prepared to apply some limited heat to the plastic to get them to lay flat AND purchase some clear Command Strips to use to hold the corners down!

Very robust door shield!

Having a curious pet always ready to explore, I've seen firsthand the damage that anxious paws and teeth can do to doors. This door shield is a game changer in our household! Not only has it kept our doors looking pristine and free from scratch marks, but it also provides peace of mind knowing our furry friend's paws and teeth are protected from potential harm. The quality is impressive. It's nice and big and we are very happy with it. Highly recommended!

It does deter slightly

My dogs scratch typically when I’m not home or from excitement when I’m returning to them. This has stopped the excitement (spontaneous) damages although they seem to just push it out of the way and dig in when I’m out occasionally. It is a good concept and it works well when my little geniuses aren’t circumventing the purpose.
