Save The Pillows
My year old Dachshund has always destroyed things when he is left alone. Clomicalm lets him slow down enough so that you can get his attention and correct the problem.
Anxiety Meds
We were advised to start these tablets for our Lab/Border Collie Cross who has exhibited anxiety and separation anxiety that’s either genetic or due to the pandemic. We got her as a puppy and worked from home without human contact so, she gets nervous and feels like she needs to protect us when people approach us. We are also working with a dog trainer to help us, help her. Apparently the drugs take a few weeks to kick in a lower their anxiety but, we are about two weeks in and see a mild difference in her. We hope this helps her and will keep the anxiety down until we cease use of the drug.
Give it time - it works!
I adopted my dog when he was 8 years old and he had severe separation anxiety and abandonment issues. As it was impossible to leave the house without him because of how crazy he would get, I wanted a quick fix. I tried everything - training, CBD, Prozac, recording my voice to play when I was gone, DogTV, special beds- EVERYTHING. Nothing helped him to feel relaxed at home without me there. My vet suggested Clomicalm and said that it may take 4-6 weeks to work. I wanted something sooner but I am so glad that I listened to him. Honestly, it took about 3 months for this to actually work, but I can now leave him alone for hours at a time. He lays right down when I leave and stays relaxed until I come home. It has not changed his temperament at all- he is still just as happy and excited as he always was, but he no longer feels fear or anxiety when I am gone. He still gets excited when I come home, but he is no longer manic- he is a much happier dog. This medication is very expensive, but it is worth it for the relief that both he and I have received from it. I know you want a quick fix for your dog to feel better, and I did too, but stick with this one!!
Prescription
Thank you so much for making this medication possible. Zia needs a pill everyday for her to have a great quality of life! Her past experiences have made her a little broken and to have this available and cost effective makes her and my 5 year old daughter have the deepest loving bond. To watch a little girl and her "husky" is a beautiful thing. Zia is 1 years old and this medication helps us to train her to be a great companion and not a wild beast.
Helpful Meds
My pup is on this medication to help with isolation anxiety. It was prescribed by our vet. The cost at Chewy is a little bit higher than our vet, but we needed it delivered and this was the best way. It's great to have that option available to us. The medication seems to have helped my dog learn how to calm herself a bit better and is part of a wider framework with training, etc., to help her through her anxieties.
Product is good but not for my dog.
My dog has anxiety so my vet prescribed this. I was not happy with the way my dog was acting and stopped using after two days.
Works well for our boxer lab mix
Our vet had us trial several meds for our boxer lab mix, starting with the least expensive. Nothing worked very well, but the Clomicalm helped her. There is a generic version available now, but we have not yet tried it.
didn't notice much difference in anxiety
The Clomicalm did not seem to have any effect on my dog's anxious behavior. She has been taking it for about 2 weeks. Will continue to give it to her to see if it needs to build up in her system
