Clopidogrel, a platelet aggregation inhibitor, may be useful for the prevention of thromboembolic disease in cats and dogs. Clopidogrel appears to reduce recurrent cardiogenic arterial thromboembolism and mortality in cats when administered after arterial thromboembolism.
Clopidogrel appears to be well tolerated in dogs and cats. Vomiting, anorexia, or diarrhea may occur; giving the drug with food may alleviate these effects.
Clopidogrel is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to it or those with active pathologic bleeding.
Talk to your veterinarian about any cautions to giving Clopidogrel before starting treatment.

Veterinarians may prescribe clopidogrel to prevent formation of blood clots, particularly in animals that have already had blood clots. The FDA (U.S. Food& Drug Administration) has approved this drug for use in humans, but it is not officially approved for use in animals. The FDA allows veterinarians to prescribe products containing this drug in different species or for other conditions in certain situations. You and your veterinarian can discuss why this drug is the most appropriate choice.
These are larger than the pink generic I received from the Vet. Since I have to give him 1/4 tablet per day, in order to fit these in the #4 gelatin capsules, I had to cut them in 1/8ths, which makes the dosage that much "iffier". I will get them from my vet from now on. As far as "recommending" these, of course if your pet needs them and you can't get others, get these for sure!
I’ve been ordering this for my cat since December. It’s been a pink pill that split easily. I guess the manufacturer changed bc now it’s a huge white non coated pill that was nearly impossible to split and turned into powder. It’s almost twice the size of what I got last month and my cat can’t take a pill that size. It’s also so bitter. Maybe order elsewhere for now.
First time using the pharmacy service. I was concerned because I did not think that Chewy would have the specialized drugs that my pet needed. Lo and behold! Chewy had everything my pet needed. Good job! Good inventory! Thanks.
It was the wrong drugs. That was the 2nd time
Needed several prescriptions so helpful when I called affordable and quick a life saver
On time. Wj=hat On time. What I ordered. Now if only my cat would take this stuff!
got fast delivery, and the price was right! THANK YOU CHEWY (AGAIN)!!!!
This is more about the tab itself. I've gotten two types of this medication for my cat and it needs to be cut into 4s. This particular tablet sometimes powderizes instead of making 4 clean quarters. Not from chewy but a different generic tablet cut more cleanly and without losing any quarters.
The last of 3 medications I need for my cat is finally here, and my life has been made simpler! I only have one complaint: the new medicine bottle the pharmacy has started sending out came open in shipping, and some of the pills slipped out of the bottom of the box. It wasn’t enough to be too worried about this time (after all, most of them were scattered in the box and packaging). I hope you guys decide to go back to your old bottles though!
haven't tried to cut these into 1/4's yet so haven't got an opinion to share. They do appear of a better shape than the prior ones we'd been getting so we're hoping for the best.
