Size

To select the most accurate size collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck for comfort.

    Worked great until it didn't

By Clark on Sep 27, 2021

My dog should have been named Houdini. She can slip flat collars and harnesses all day, chew through the toughest nylon, just destroy whatever she wants. Until this collar. It worked for a month, which is the longest she's ever kept a collar, but this morning I found she had snapped it and run away. Not the nylon, the metal. Highly disappointed to have to buy yet another collar.

Way too large, sizing is off

By Eliza on Oct 23, 2021

My puppy has a 14 inch neck and I ordered a small according to the measurements. When I put the collar on her, it only fits like a normal collar when I pull the chain to the tightest setting. Defeats the purpose of a martingale.

Reminds me of a self adjusting dog noose

By Nemosmom on Aug 15, 2021

It's basically a collar with a choke chain top. It worked for about 3walks till my dog got used to it. Then he just pulled like normal. Another way to tighten up the collar if your dog pulls. I don't recommend if your dog constantly pulls. It may hurt the esophagus. My dog didn't eat/drink for days because it chocked him. I felt very guilty for trying this out on him. He was hacking from the swelling of his throat. He's a heavyweight puller. I think it's just a glorified self adjusting noose if a dog pulls too much. But on the positive side, the collar didn't slip off my dog's neck. So it did what was advertised. that is my honest opinion.

    All My Dogs

By ComfyCritters on Aug 12, 2021

We use these collars for basic, intermediate and advanced obedience for our mutts (designer dogs: mixed breeds!). They're a natural. Without neck pain, no danger of injury, the sound and gentle pressure/reminder of when to 'stop' is genius in design. Each dog (and fosters) have their own color collar with matching leash. Keeps gear organized and 'helpers' catch on to the system easily. I appreciate the solid construction/stitching. We've seen some sad and scaredy dogs come to stay but with gentle/firm/consistent training, they leave for their furever homes as happy, confident, and well-mannered pooches. Excellent product. Nice gift for newly adopted dogs!

    For bigger dogs

    By Mom22 on Sep 28, 2021

The collars were the right circumference for our girls, but the chain much too heavy. We will find something lighter, and donate these. But the quality is what I’d have expected, absolutely.

    Awesome collar

By Miki on Jul 29, 2021

I've been using a pinch collar, but my boy didn't need that much force anymore so I switched to a martingale. The problem was my golden retriever's head is very large so I had to adjust it down after I put it on him. This is not as easy as one might think. I saw this collar on the Chewy site and decided to give it a try. It is worth every penny, it is so well made and easy enough to put on even my husband can do it.

    Great training collar

By Rottimom on Jul 25, 2021

This has proven to be a great training collar, as soon as I pick it up my 4 month old Rotti puppy gets excited and goes into training mode, snaps right on quickly

    Sizes are really off!

By JoKing on Jul 9, 2021

The quality of the collars is very nice but the sizing is completely off. I purchased a small and a medium for my small dogs and they were HUGE! Watch the sizing when you purchase.

    Room to grow

By Batterie on May 16, 2021

I ordered this to train my new pup she is a larger breed and a puller. I measured her and ordered the appropriate size. However she managed to slip out of it because it is the smallest size and her neck isnt that big yet but there is a lot of room for her to grow into the collar. I love the fact that it came in purple.
