Not for large dogs
This is a very nice collar but not for large, strong dogs. It appears well made and is attractive, but... my German Shepard broke away and was gone for an hour. He must have pulled on his cable and torn the Leather apart. The piece that you clasp the leash to the collar was found dangling on the end of the leash and the piece that slips into the holes on the collar was on the ground. The collar was ripped pretty badly. I'd say this is a great collar for smaller dogs.
Nice collar, but the Dog chewed it up
I put the collar on the dog, and there was a good inch of excess, after pulling it thru the loop. During my two dogs playtime, they do a lot of rock and rolling- the younger dog did a number on the new collar- chewed off the entire piece of excess coillar- now it is useless. Apparently, the pup found it a great chew toy. Dont buy this collar if you have multiple dogs and one of them is a chewer
Frustrated
Measured according to instruction. Collar big and extra length would not fit through leather loop. Should have ordered smaller so would not have to bother with loop anyway. Collar is good quality and very soft. Would recommend ordering smaller size.
Rolled Leather Collar Broke
Dog on Run ran fast to the end of run and the collar broke off at buckle and left a two inch loose piece off the collar I really like the collar and feel there was a weak spot in the construction. Could you replaace? I also purchased a red rolled leather lease to match. Thank you.
cute pick collar
although had a lavender tinge, but still cute. rolled collar is what recommended by my dog trainer. would have opted more quality reduction for slightly more money, for example the part that holds collar down once on her, keeps slipping off- sorry not sure what to call this piece).
new leather dog collars with metal buckles
My dogs and I really like the black leather dog collars. The leather is very strong and it will still break more easily than the nylon collars if the dog gets tangled. In addition, the plastic buckles can be hard for me to release, yet are easily broken when the dogs play.
Good Quality and good looking
Ordered in brown which was a nice "cognac" brown instead of a dark brown. The price was really good and lower than I found in other pet suppliers
Collar is much to large for n16 inch neck
Quality is good but be aware that for the smaller neck size, there will be a long portion of the collar that sticks out after being buckled. There is no additional band to hold this extra length close to the collar
Poor quality
I love rolled leather collars, this one is awful. It stretches out, the stitching come undone and the little leather piece that's supposed to hold the end after the buckle isn't attached to it slides around and doesn't hold the end. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
Rolled collars
Rolled collars don't break your dog's fur. They look great come in beautiful colors and aren't very expensive. Chewy is a great company with quick turnaround time. Love them. Try them out they are worth the try.
