Great Gate!
This gate was easy to install and easy to use. Even my 82 y/o mom can use it. It's easiest to use when you lift the gate from the middle. Thanks again for making life easier. :-)
Great Gate
This is well made-I lucked out and did not have to use any extensions-which made installation so very easy
Just okay.
This one is the third gait I bought from Chewy. The first one was the best. It lasted almost 5 years before it needed a replacement. Unfortunately, it isn’t a choice any longer. This one is no difficult to install, but the lacking mechanism requires both hands to open and to close. Also, it doesn’t lack automatically when you walk through, which is inconvenient, especially if you have something in your hand(s). I don’t understand, why the manufacturer would make the lack so complicated!
GREAT GATE!!
This gate is sooooo awesome!! Since I rent, not having to put holes in the wall is a big plus. I'm not mechanically inclined, so the fact that I could get this gate together and placed where I needed it is proof ANYBODY can handle it!!!!!
Great idea Needs work
What the video does not show is that you really need two hands to unlock and open the door. One to push the button to release the handle and the other to lift handle, and then you have to lift up the door from the middle of the rail to actually open the door. So if you are holding your child or pet in order walk through the gate, this is not an ideal situation. and if you have carpal tunnel syndrome or shoulder injury this gate is not that easy to manipulate. unless you have three hands. The design and function of the handle should be and could be done better. But with that being said, really why a handle to open in the first place. Because if all you need to do is Lift the door up to move into the open position you don’t need to lift up the handle at all. So it’s functional, it is doing what I need, since I modified it to make the product work for me. See attached pictures Just need to make sure the tabs at the bottom clear the bar when opening. It does appear to be sturdy and was easy to set up. When gate is in the opened position, it stays open in either direction.
Great Gate!
I bought this gate to keep my Chihuahua from going upstairs. It works great. My only criticism is that the directions were a little bit hard to follow. Unexpectedly, whenever I removed the contents of the box, a box of hardware fell out. At first this made me a little bit nervous, but not to worry, No Screws Involved!!! . If you are considering buying this this gate, just follow directions. Depending upon the size of your space, you will be instructed to do 1 way or the other. If you have a small space like me, you’ll only have to use a few of the enclosed tubes. If you have a larger space, you’ll need to use more tubes, Overall, once you get the hang of tightening the spools, you’ll almost be done. I’m happy with it now. It has a nice wide 20 inch opening. I like that because I can open the door and bring laundry upstairs. Jaci
Sturdy gate
I chose this gate because it can be securely mounted in a doorway without drilling holes. I did not need to use the extra extension parts. I like the swing open gate that makes it safer for me to get back and forth. So far, the dog can’t knock it down nor jump over it. The cat can get over it but that’s predictable and she’s allowed in any room anyway. The rails and frame are metal so I know my dog won’t be able to bite through it.
Quality Gate,...but
After unboxing the gate I followed the instruction manual to assemble it. I noticed that the latch side support was not square to the bottom therefore not allowing the gate to latch as there was a wide gap at the top. I stopped there before going further with the installation, called customer service and they agreed to send a replacement gate. Before I abandoned the gate I noticed a green tag attached to it that had a better explanation of the installation. Even though the latch side support was not square to the gate or the bottom rail, once pressure was applied using the adjustment screws I was able to bring the support into the proper vertical position, and the gate works very well. This pressure was more than I could exert manually and Led me to think the gate was defective. There is a noticeable bend in the bottom rail after installation. This is due to the force required to straighten the latch support. I decided that this was a design feature because it allows allows a very tight wall to wall installation. I then called customer service to cancel the replacement.
Works great
Easy to install, works great. If you have a small puppy or dog they will get out between gate and keeper. Mine will out grow that in a couple of weeks.
