I have a one year old lab who still jumps and acts crazy even with training. He's got some long nails, and it definitely hurts when he scratches while he's jumping up to say hello. He's never had a manicure - only because I kept putting it off. I knew clippers would be a no-go so I thought a grinder would be my best option. I LOVE THIS THING. It is so easy to do. I've used it once and I think I made a good choice. It's not too loud, and I was worried about that because my dog barks at weird noises (like most dogs). It needed to be a two person job for me because my pup wasn't sure about the noise or his paws being man-handled. I got four claws done before he squirmed to the point where we had I have a one year old lab who still jumps and acts crazy even with training. But I don't mind. I don't want him to have a bad experience with getting his nails done. Hopefully the next attempt I can get the rest of his front claws done! lol I would definitely recommend this nail grinder. … more

  • Read instructions, great product

Just got this today. I have been cutting my dogs nails with old fashion cutters for over 35 years. This was so much better. Even with cutting them and fling them once a month their toenails were to long. Read the instructions and took my time. Best there nails have ever looked. Do suggest wearing a mask as the dust does fly. Hardly any resistance from my two dogs. The Lab/Basset hound mix has the biggest, thickest nails of any dog I have owned. Use the sandpaper grinder first and if needed use the regular or rounded grinding wheel to polish. Less time and so much less stress on me and the dogs.

  • Sedative Please

Although this was advertised as quiet, my dog still FREAKS out anytime we attempt to clip or file her nails. The tool itself is good and worked on the one nail I was able to file in the battle of the nail trimming. Honestly, I would rather take her to the vet and pay someone to do her nails. The stress and trauma aren't worth the money saved by doing it at home.

  • Too weak to be effective takes way too long

    By on

I liked the idea of this quieter with a guard to prevent taking too much off. However it has so little power it takes way too long. My rescues get way too agitated to use it on them. With black nails I thought this was the answer but they can't possibly relax long enough to make any real progress. I should have bought the Dremel.

  • Nice grinder, not for thick long big dog toenails though

    By on

This is easy to use, nice long chord, relatively quiet and very maneuverable. I had a GSD with long nails who was uncomfortable with the pressure of a toenail clipper. I took him to the vet to have them clipped. Now I use the grinder to keep them short. I had to go slow at first but he is pretty tolerant of the grinder if I don't grind too long.

  • Love This Grinder

I purchased this grinder about 9 months ago and we love it! We have 2 large dogs and a smaller, terrier mix and it works well for all three. Not too loud when it's turned on and I've had no problems at all!! Most importantly, our 3 dogs are comfortable with it! Ill use this until it dies, then, I'll buy another! :)

  • Works well

This seems to work pretty well. My dog hates having a her nails cut and always pulls away so it's nice to have something where I don't have to worry about cutting her quicks.

  • Best nail grinder I have ever used

    By on

The price is very affordable and the devise is good quality. I’m happy to no longer use nail clippers. The adjustments of differnt grit files are great and easy to replace. The machine is pretty fast to use and not too loud. I would defiantly buy it again. Happy it worked on my small wiener dogs and my lab German shepherd mix. It should work for any size dog.

  • dissapointed

Do not call this a "professional Dog Nail Grinder". It's junk! the original attachment worked on our puppy but not the adult dog. Yes it comes with replacement heads but the button you have to push to be able to change the attachements does NOT work. Followed the directions in the instruction manuel so that was not the problem. This will be returned. Nothing against Chewy this is a product dissapointment.

  • I LOVE THIS TOOL

I have got a giant 90 lap baby who is petrified of the clippers so I had to think outside the box. I got this based on reviews and price point. ITS GREAT. Not too loud and it does not lose power as I press down on her nail.
