Pet-It grooming tools features Palm-Petting Grip Technology. Slip the grip (found on the backside of brush) between your index and middle finger to hold the brush in the palm of your hand. These tools fit seamlessly in the palm of the hand to allow you to groom your pet comfortably with a natural petting motion. This reduces the likelihood of startling your pet.
Save time and money spent on professional grooming services by brushing your dog the right way at home. Follow these guidelines to give your pet the best-looking hair coat on the block:
Thorough brushing before a bath removes loose hair and significantly improves the effectiveness of the shampoo in cleaning down to the skin. Plus, it makes bathing much less of a 'hairy' job.
Different coats sometimes require different brushes. Prior to brushing, you may want to consider spraying on a detangling grooming mist, which will condition the hair and make brushing easier.
Be systematic about brushing. Start at the head and work toward the tail. Use firm, but gentle strokes with an emphasis on gentle. Pulling or ripping through tangles and mats hurts your pet and quickly erodes trust. Brushing can and should be a pleasurable experience, so take your time.
For pets with thick coats, first brush in the opposite direction of natural hair growth starting at the skin and brushing outward. When the entire coat is brushed this way, start over and brush with the grain. For all other coats, brush in the direction of natural hair growth. Use long strokes for longhaired pets, and short strokes for pets with short or wiry hair.
After brushing, you can use a comb to remove more of the loose hair. A hand-held vacuum also does a good job if your pet will tolerate the noise.
I liked the idea of the brush for the grip, because I have carpal tunnel issues. But I didn't expect for the handle to break off! I'm not that strong for goodness sake! And for my cocker boy, the pins are too long. It pulls his long fur, which hurts him. I gave an extra star only for the idea of design. Stick to Bass brushes.
I can never resist a new tool for grooming my dogs and this has become my favorite! Works great for our poodle mix (who does shed some) and our golden retriever. I bought this when I started having issues with carpal tunnel; it was much easier on the wrist and hand. Even after surgery, I use this brush more than any other.
Really liked the design and worked great for the one time I was able to use it, my six month old puppy got ahold of it for about 15 seconds and chewed the handle right off with ease.
I just adopted an 8 pound ball of canine fluff. She has lots and lots of long hair. The shelter had removed the worst of the mats and tangles by cutting them out, but I needed a brush for the rest until she can see a groomer. This brush has been fantastic! I am able to control it easily, it fits in the palm of my hand and it works just like I am petting her. She is tolerating the brushing well and part of the reason is how gentle but thorough I can be with this brush.
This brush does an awesome job and it’s so easy to hold. Because you hold it like you’re just petting your dog you don’t cramp up from holding a handle and the dog almost thinks you’re petting them!
I like the rounded tips of this wire brush. It is too small for someone with large hands though which makes it hard to handle.
Mommy likes to brush all the loose hair out of my coat. I don't mind with this brush because it is like she is petting me and it doesn't hurt. ~Hershey
Easy to grip especially when you're trying to wrangle a squirming puppy.
This pin brush works really well and I like the had grip style.
Much more comfortable to use than the traditional style of brush. Will need to allow time to determine longevity.
