I really like this bed. It was exactly what I was looking for and I got it on sale for the same cost of the med bed. I gave it 4 stars because it was a little tricky to put together. I bought 4. The 1st one took almost an hour for me to get it together. But after a quick YouTube video I saw how to make the last two holes line up and got it screwed together. The next 3 only took about 10 to 15 mins each. I have 6 dogs. 5 are Dalmatians. They prefer a cooler place to lay. So they would lay on the floor. I hated seeing them on the hard floor. I got these and now they can enjoy the comfy with staying cool. As I stated I got the large because they were onsale and such a great deal. Two of my furkids and easily lay on one of these. I could have gotten away with getting med beds. They are a very nice size.
I think this is a good product but I can’t tell for sure since my dog won’t go anywhere near it. I tried to bribe her with treats and praise but it was a no go. I even put my favorite pair of work shoes on it to entice her, being that expensive shoes is her favorite food group. Nothing. It was easy to put together and it seems sturdy enough. But I don’t think I’ll ever know how it functions as a dog bed. Sigh.
I got this for my senior cat, who needs help grooming now, so that she could lay down by the sunny window without being on the carpet. I thought it would help keep her cool and be more hygienic. She has yet to use it, prefers laying in her "best friends by sheri" bed in the sun, or on the carpet, but not on this. However, she uses it as a stair to jump onto the bed. We also foster so I look forward to how other cats respond to it. For parents, I will say that it takes some muscle to put together. At first I thought I was doing it wrong but I wasn't. The first one didn't work at all, but the second one did. You must really pull the mat to reach the holes on the poles, to screw the bolts in.
I bought two of these so that everyone had a spot to lay on except my couches. However just the one is everyone’s favorite so far. I bought two size larges- specifically to accommodate the doberman. As you can see, the weight limit is exceeded by about 50 pounds with all three dogs and the bed is holding up well. It’s also a favorite among our cats. Two of our cats are territorial and pee on any other kind of bed but haven’t yet on these (another plus). 4 stars given bc putting it together was a little challenging.
We have purchased coolaroo beds in the past that have lasted years. The same dogs are using this one, but it began unraveling within a few weeks. I can’t purchase a replacement cover from chewy because although they sell the extra large beds, they don’t sell extra large replacement covers.
We ordered these dog beds to try because our dogs tend to destroy their dog beds. They love these elevated dog beds, and if they had decided to eat them, the cover can be easily replaced. But they didn't eat it! They actually just enjoy lounging on them, so that's a huge win. Highly recommend!
Loved this for the first two weeks, it has been just over a month and the whole side of the fabric that wraps around the frame came apart so it is no longer useable. Can buy a replacement cover for about the same as a new one. Not worth it.
I first bought my dog one of these probably 14 years ago with an extra cover in case it ripped. He still has the original bed frame and cover. He is 40 lbs and at one point he used it as a trampoline to get on and off the bed. It is stretched a bit but still good and he loves it. It's now more like a hammock but he prefers his bed over the new one I got for him. Cats loves these beds also. They have stood up to the cats clawing on it as well. We taught them not to but cats are cats and they train us lol! I had a fluffy bed on it at one point but hands down the animals love it either way. The old design needed to be tightened every now and then but heck it's 14 years old. Worth every penny. So easy to clean I always try to keep the metal dry when cleaning and just wipe it. I also use my vacuum on the cover to help get the dander out. Highly recommend the coolaroo pet bed in any size.
This is great. Seems sturdy enough. I could not get this together. Even my strong husband struggled with it. So be prepared that it is difficult to put together. When the dog isn't on it, the cats sneak on it. They like it also.
Bought these because Coolaroo offers 'replacement hardware' and Frisco does not. I really needed to replace the part inside the leg that accepts the screw... on two of my beds the plastic parts of it deteriorated (due to freezes?) and the part fell into the rod out of reach of the screw. Anyway, fyi, the Coolaroo parts do NOT include that inner part anyway! So, my bad... Anyway, the Coolaroo bed fabric is less densely woven and sags and is more attractive to chewing by my dogs than the fabric on the Frisco cots. And the Coolaroo beds have that 'please chew me' product tag on the top corner of the cot! (I removed it on the second cot, but please just take this off!). AND, the Coolaroo cots were no easier to put together (why is that last leg SOOO hard to get into place?!) than the Friscos. So, going back to Friscos (and to the hardware store to look for a part, sigh). Am I the only one who needs that inner part that the bold screws in to??!!
