Keep your dog's bed in tip-top shape with this Coolaroo Replacement Cover for Steel-Framed Elevated Pet Bed.
I actually am really happy about the bed itself. I was debating between a large and an Xl because my dog is super long, but has shorter legs so finding a good size for her can be tricking. But the larger always her to fully stretch out. Also, the bed was on sale. So that is another pro! The setup was a couple mess. The instructions weren't helpful AT ALL. My fiancee had to youtube the bed to actual get good instructions. It took us an hour to try to set this bed up, but once he youtubed it, we got it done in 10 minutes. That is annoying and frustrating!
First off, I purchased a medium size dog bed. My dog is a 14 year old, 34 lb Shiba Inu for reference. There is plenty of space for her to fully stretch out and take a nap. This bed is great for dogs who enough sunbathing in the hot sun. The elevated feature allows air to circulate and travel under the bed so your dog can enjoy the sun without getting over heated as quickly. My cats love hiding under it while watching the squirrels. I bring my elevated beds indoors for winter. I also try to remove them from heavy rainfalls but I don’t worry about them rusting.
My dog is a Aussie shepherd cattle dog mix. I noticed that my dog would constantly move around in the night to cooler spots when sleeping. I decided to try this bed for her to see if this would help keep her cooler at night & it does. She goes right to her bed & can sleep the night through. She loves!
This was way too hard to put together. I'm a veteran of putting together IKEA furniture; this was much harder. A minor change in the hardware would be a huge improvement. (And yes, I read the instructions repeatedly.) On the plus side, I like the fabric. I'm planning on using it outside, and it looks like it will hold up well. I'm hoping that the spring washers will keep the legs securely fastened - I sure don't want to have to reassemble it.
This is a nice elevated cot,it seems pretty durable. The only complaint is that they have a sewn in tag on the top ,as apparent in a photo.Problem was that my puppy( who is a chewer) went right for the tag.Had I not caught it right away I'm sure he would have chewed the material try to get the tag.I took a seam ripper and very carefully removed the tag.I would suggest a different way to place advertising on the cot.
I recently bought a large Coolaroo bed to replace one that has the screws permanently stuck in it. I tried futilely for a couple of days try to unscrew them and thought I'll just buy a new one since I've had it with trying to remove screws to replace the cover on the old one. I ordered and it came and now I have spent so much time beating the ends with a rigging axe because the ends are so out of round that they won't connect with other pieces. Don't waste your money or time on the new coolaroo beds. They are shoddily made and not worth any money.
Easy to assemble, good quality, and our dog loved it from the moment I set it on the ground. Keeps your dog off the ground away from annoying bugs and allows air circulation. I recommend you get one. Extra large is perfect for our boy Chance
I love the Coolaroo dog bed! had a large Coolaroo from almost 10 years ago that we still use on our Labrador, but I wanted to get two additional ones for the other dogs. The quality is still the same as it was 10 years ago. It is sturdy, priced well, and long-lasting. I love that it can be used indoors and outdoors, and it is awesome that they sell replacement covers. However, it is difficult to assemble. I bought two of these beds; one medium and one small. The first bed took me an hour to set up, but the second only took me 25 minutes. What I figured out was, even if the screw feels tight and won’t budge, just keep screwing it in, and DON’T use your fingers to screw it in because it won’t work. After that, it is a piece of cake. On the other hand, if you’re elderly or don’t have much strength, I don’t recommend buying this bed because of assembly.
I bought this bed for a dog at a humane society because he chews blankets and beds. This bed was gone in one day. I have since bought a kuranda which is working great but of course was more expensive.
Hoss is still debating whether he likes the cooling bed or not. When he goes outside to enjoy the sunshine he will lie on the cooling bed a for few mins. Later when I check on him I will find him laying on the pavers and/or grass. I am hopeful he will love!!
