I was excited to purchase this product. We have 3 dogs, all within the 40-60 lb range. Ordered the large beds. Delivery was speedy. Putting the items together was easy. We did run into a couple of improvements that had to be made to ensure the screw went into the tubing well. By the third day, one of our dogs had chewed the fabric, which is no fault of the product, she chews everything! But the frame on two of them had come apart after use. We took them back apart, made adjustments with the screws, and have not had a problem so far. She did lay on it till she chewed fabric. (Despite our creativity it's an ongoing challenge with her!). Bottom line, good product, good price, solves problem of getting animals off concrete for joints and heat. Would suggest possible additional drilling of holes with screw when putting together. Would order from company again. … more

I washed his bed often but it never seemed to take of the smell or the hair! He also is getting older and having issues with his hips. Getting off the pillow was getting harder. We got the raised bed in hopes of eliminating a lot of these issues. Assembly was easy enough. At first he wanted nothing to do with it. I was the worst mommy in the world. We put a blanket on top of it and he finally ended up crawling up on it. He seems to enjoy it. It has held him up pretty well. My kids have sat on it with him. The smell has disappeared. The hair is so much easier to clean up. Everyone is happy. The only complaint I have is the screws seem to twist out often. I can pick it up and it twist in different directions, no matter how tight the screws are. It holds though. So it might be made that way, if it is, it's not something I prefer. … more

I bought this bed for my 11 mo old lab mix who is big, busy, and loves to chew everything and drag it around the yard. Needless to say we have had to make accommodation for that. This is outside bed so our dog does not have to lie in the dirt. I knew he would try to drag it around so I staked it down with big tent stakes and bungees and it works great-he loves it and he can't drag it around. The only thing I did not like was that once I got it assembled the bed sling fit so tight on the frame that the frame would not sit flat without 1 or 2 of the legs popping up. Well, putting the stakes on each corner fixed that too. Very tough bed-I thought it might last few days and it's been 2 weeks I bought this bed for my 11 mo old lab mix who is big, busy, and loves to chew everything and drag it around the yard. • Nice bed for the price

I bought this bed for my dog because we are getting a new couch and I thought it would keep him cool. (I have a Cane Corso) Initially, he was very iffy about the fact that there wasn't anything solid under him and he wouldn't just hop up on his own. Today, we put his blanket on it and instead of coming to snuggle with us on the couch he had gotten on his bed and looked comfortable- not scared like before! I know it defeats the whole "cooling" aspect but at least he's using it and seems happy. My dog weighs about 125lbs--I bought this when there was a post saying it was tested up to 150 but now it has been changed to 100. So far, so good!

  • Too Hot in the South

We weren't sure if my mom's rescue that we inherited at mom's passing would take to a Coolaroo...We were wrong! It only took a day or two for our new girl to be comfortable with the give of the fabric. It's very easy on her bum leg, (she had a growth plate shattered when she was a pup and the long bone compensated by growing three extra inches. It's one of the many issues she had when Mom adopted her.) Really happy we bought the largest size, as the girls will often lay together no matter the temperature. The girls both love them on these hot, humid days. Luckily, the beds allow air movement above and below. They switch out every now and then. They are not concerned with colors. They are both about 40 pounds. But they love to stretch out. The larger bed allows a full stretch. Each breeze keeps them happy, until the next rabbit comes along... Oh and the brown bed, also a Coolaroo, is about 4-5 years old. I know Chewy.com is selling a cheaper version, but why fix it if it ain't broke? If I could only order one for me lol... … more

  • My 2 Dogs & Cats Love it!

    By on

I was looking for an elevated outdoor pet bed. I really like the attractive look and colors of this bed. I was impressed with other reviews and of course the wonderful price. I ordered the X-large and my 42 lb Catahoula Leopard especially loves sunbathing and chewing toys on it. My DSH cat also loves sunbathing and crawling underneath for shade. The only thing to keep in mind is the dimensions. I ordered the x-large and if i was to determine sizes it looks like a medium to me. My 42 lb catahoula can stretch her body out all the way and it fits her perfectly but I suspect this would be small for much larger dogs.

  • So far so good.

I understand the max weight is 100lbs for a large but a chewy employee answered someone's question on here saying this mat is strength tested to 150lbs. I purchased this for my 105lb Great Dane. He won't be getting bigger and is was only 5lbs over the recommended weight so I took a chance. It took him a bit to warm up to the bed but he's starting to love it. He's a little small for it but this isn't his real bed. My house is hardwood and tile so he would lay directly on the floor when it gets hot, which worries me, so this mat is perfect for keeping him off the ground and cool.

  • Good So Far

    By on

So far my dogs love it. They are skiddish when it comes to new things and would not use a similar item. All 3 of them (even the pickiest) use these. It works great for getting them off the hot porch surface and aids one that has hip problems in that he doesn't struggle as much with getting up. My only concern is I can see a slight sag already and I hope their nails don't tear the surface. As far a durability, I like the metal frame instead of the PVC plastic and love how easy it is to clean verses the nasty pillow washing process.

  • not for the faint of heart

This bed was incredibly difficult to assemble. Thankfully, I had help from someone who had a lot of upper body strength. We could not put the 4th screw in place at all the first few times we tried to assemble it. Eventually, I looked up a YouTube video that showed how it's done - the trick is you have to twist it so to create more distance between the two members. But even after the assemblage is successful, be careful when picking it up off the ground. It can easily get twisted up again.

  • Alternative bed

I bought this for my malamute/husky to be cooler when he sleeps. Taking some time for him to get use to the idea of sleeping on it instead of the floor. The material is lightweight and seems easy to clean. So far hair isn't sticking to it either!!! TOTAL PLUS!!! It was a little awkward putting to together but overall easy. When this product was shipped, it was shipped in the actual box it comes in. Not sure if I like the idea of everyone in the neighborhood seeing what I ordered.
