    Excellent and safe heating unit

First, it is important to understand that chickens regulate their body temperature themselves. They don’t need a lot of heat. If you are using a heat lamp, you might be disappointed at the amount of heat this “gives off.” It is radiant heat and very effective, but it doesn’t create a hot coop (this is a big problem in itself because the chickens stop regulating their temperature, not to mention the fire risk). It regularly keeps the temps 15-20 degrees higher in the coop compared to outside. I live in the northeast where it was cold so this is perfect for frostbite prevention. Excellent and safe heating system!! … more

Own three, and one stopped working on low Setting, a switch is going out, then high setting went and completely dead. Called company and no customer service help, the lady who answered was like “ too bad” even though just a year old. Go buy another she told me. Great, thanks.

    Good little heater.

We bought 2 of these for our coops. They are good little heaters that will help add heat to the coop. Not as effective as a light however still do a nice job.

    Warm Space For Our Dog...

    By on

Heater is placed adjacent to the dog (Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix) bed - inside the house. Without carpet on the floor, she prefers her bed & seems to enjoy having a warm spot to lay when weather (and floor) is cool. Convenient to use. We've only been using it for about 2 weeks and have no complaints, thus far. Note: Panel 'On' indicator is a heat reactive material, not a 'touch switch'; mechanical switch is on cord.

    Perfect for what I needed

    By on

I have one bantam rooster that needs to be kept separate from the rest of the flock, and the indoor component to his coop is about 3x3 feet. I was concerned, since there is no body heat from other chickens to keep the coop warm, that he would get too cold at nighttime. I was worried this heater would get the space too hot, but it seems to work just perfectly. and there is no risk of him burning himself against the panel, because it doesn't actually get too hot. If you are heating a larger space and you want it to get noticeably warm, you may want to invest in multiple panels.
