FAQ

What is lotilaner, the active ingredient in Credelio?

Lotilaner is a member of the isoxazoline class of parasiticides. It has acaracidal and insecticidal activity, and acts as an inhibitor of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)–gated chloride channels (GABACls).

Can Credelio be given to dogs with food allergies?

Credelio tablets are made with a beef flavoring containing pork liver and soy but no actual beef. Tablets also contain barley, wheat and lactose. Consult your veterinarian before using in dogs with food allergies to pork, soy, barley, wheat or lactose.

What is the acceptability/ palatability of Credelio

In a field trial, the acceptability of credelio was tested at 10 different locations across the u.s. 94% of dogs accepted Credelio from the hand, in the bowl or with food. The remaining 6% accepted Credelio when placed in the mouth. There were no reports of unsuccessful dosing.

The positive control in the u.s. field trial was Nexgard® (afoxolaner). Acceptability results were very similar, with only 4% reaching the “placed in mouth” stage. Also, Nexgard had no reports of unsuccessful dosing.

What is the shelf life of Credelio?

Please reference the individual packaging of Credelio for the expiration date.

How long does a Credelio tablet remain stable outside the blister pack?

Great if you have children and love to be outdoors

    By on

We love Credelio, our Vet recommended it to us when our dog was a puppy. We have small children that love to cuddle with the dog so I wanted something that was not topical. We also are outdoors and on our 40 acres walking around the woods on a weekly basis so we really needed something that works well. Archie gobbled this up when he was a puppy but now it takes some coaxing but it isn’t terrible. Last month we ran out and didn’t have an appointment to renew his script right away stupidly we went out into the woods and with out being on Credelio he had gotten 6 ticks! Since having his meds we haven’t found anything on himself we have been out multiple times!

    Above & Beyond

Exceptional customer service & follow up! Called Vet for script within hrs of submitting order, prompt reply to inquiring email and delivery in less than a week even after stating delay in processing orders because of major increase in volume due to COVID. Thank you to everyone involved.

This is expensive to buy from Chewy

    By on

I pay about half the price directly from my vet but because of Covid 19 I am unable to pick up the meds from their office. I have to wrestle the dog to take this monthly but the vet says it works.

    A good brand

    By on

My dog is allergic to basic or very cheap medications but this one works great and he will take it without even being covered or hidden in food. I It does take a while to get to you because they have to have your vet approve a prescription.

    Great for my Rough Collie

    By on

After reading the horrific reports of side effects with NexGard, I researched other flea / tick medications that would sit well with my Collie who's an MDR1 carrier. Not only does he eat it without any issues, but there have been no weird behaviors or side effects which is always a plus. He's been on this for almost a year.

    No more fleas!!

    By on

After trying many home remedies, on what I thought was a common hot spot, my 13 year old golden continued to scratch and bite on a very ugly sore near his rear. It was off to the vet and to my surprise, the vet informed me my sweet boy had fleas. For years I had been treating my pups with a topical treatment, that apparently was no longer effective. My pup was treated with Credelio and I was advised to start this treatment on my pups monthly. I immediately went online to Chewy and placed an order. I am very satisfied with both the Credelio and with Chewy's customer service. Best online site for your pet's needs!!

    Great Product!

    By on

We have used this on our Goldendoodle since bringing her home. So far, so good! I have to crush it up and mix in peanut butter for her to take it, but that’s no big deal.
