This is a great LED light for any aquarium. The one small problem is that it doesn't come with a timer function, so if you don't want to turn your light on manually each day, you will need a separate timer to operate it. Otherwise, a great fixture.
This is a great light for giving a wide range of effects. It brings out the different colors of fish, and creates healthier light combos for plants and fish. The main color selections are subtle but effective at bringing out different colors on the fish. You can adjust the red, green, blue and brightness slightly with the up and down arrows. You can adjust the main colors and set them on 4 memory buttons for quick recall. There is a bright light setting. There are 3 moon phases, brighter to lower blue. A sunrise and 5 different cloud variations. Some are softer light like overcast, some rotate through bright and soft to mimic clouds passing over the sun. There are 3 different lightning storms. Each has different light variations and lightning simulation intensity. It has a play/pause that I am still figuring out. Push it to pause a setting such as storm setting. Pushing it a second time doesnt seem to restart it, I found I needed to push the storm setting again. That said I may be missing something. The light bar itself on the 24"-36" light is 23". The metal arms on each side pull out to extend its total length. I have a 28 gal bow front that is 24" across the top and it fits perfectly. The power cord has a sensor for remote and on/off button about 36" down. The sensor and remote do need to have a clear sight line between them. I put it under the stand but it did not respond to the remote. I tied it so it is on the side of the tank where I can have a clear sight line to use the remote and that works well. This little sensor is small, about 1" x 2". I have found the fish to be far more relaxed when I can adjust the light as they can get agitated being in bright light for hours at a time. The plants also seem to do much better with the variety of light. If you want a more natural light for your aquatic friends, plants and aquarium in general, I would recommend this light.
I bought 2. And both failed. Leaked in moisture.. got dull in a short time. Great at first. For the price extremely poor product!
I love how lightweight and easy to move this is. Sure beats the big bulky light fixture I replaced! Tons of fun colors/themes to switch through too!
I purchased the 18”-24” thinking it would fit my 20gallon tall planted tank, but I was proven wrong when I set it up. It’s to small. I feel as though it won’t be good enough for my plants. I guess I’m disappointed as I thought I was getting one product and received a different product.
I got this light in September of this year and it has recently start flashing randomly
I like the light it does great for my fish and plants but after a few months waters gotten inside the light causing it to flicker and some lights stop working id recommend plastic wrapping them before installing
I have a 50 gal. bow front tank. The single strip LED lights that came with it have grown dim over the years. I've shopped LED lights, but the $200-$300 prices weren't very appealing. Then I found this light. My tank measures 36" across and I wasn't sure if the 24"-36" would be enough so I asked Chewy. Based on their recommendation I spent the extra and bought the 36"-48". It was a very good decision. I was more interested in brightness than the weather effects. It has really brightened up my tank, and the fish seem to be happier
It was really nice while it survived, but stopped working before reaching one year
The light is bright and the colored led’s add a nice touch with the variable colors and simulated clouds passing by. It also works well with a timer. The only drawback is the remote sensor is in the middle of the cord so you can’t hide the cord out of sight if you want to be able to use the remote control.
