    Quality Control???

    By on

I thought I had found a quality commercial food I could feel pretty good about feeding to my pets, but I've had two bad cans in 2 months. I'm done researching for quality foods only to be disappointed. This is too expensive to be throwing cans away. I've been feeding a combination of home prepared and commercial. Guess it's time to give up on commercial foods altogether. This contains agar. I don't know if that is the problem. Agar is used as a growth medium for growing molds and bacteria in labs. Every time I open a new can, I feel uncertain as to whether there is some start of spoilage as yet undetectable to my nose. I've just hoped that, if there is, my cats will refuse to eat it. So far they are eating this okay, but seem way more interested in the dogs' food than ever before. That in itself gives me pause. … more

My cats really like this food.

I switched from Purina One Cry food and they are loving this food. I feel good knowing it's so much healthier for them.

    Why I chose Dave's.

    By on

You can get overwhelmed at all the cat food available. I didn't realize the importance of "ingredients" until later in life, and in the long-run, how it can affect a cat's health. I chose Dave's because it's grain-free, premium meat, no by-products and the "veggies" he puts in.

    Cats don't like it

    By on

My indoor cats won't eat it but the outside ferals are ok with it. Don't buy this if your cat has a discriminating palate.

    size of a tuna can

    By on

Did not realize how big these cans were. I will make sure to check this before buying again. My cats don't like cold food after recapping and they cannot eat in 1 sitting.

It's okay but not the best combination

    By on

Cats like it, not sure it's the best combination though. I will try the other pates and see what they're like.

    bone content increased

    By on

My cats really liked this, and they still love the all chicken flavor, but the last couple cases of this chicken/tuna flavor I noticed the amount of little pieces of bone increased and my cats either didn't like that fact, or they just got tired of it. But I'm leaning toward the bones being an issue since they stopped eating it, or they'd only eat like half of it and leave all the rest and all the little pieces of bone behind.

Cats love Dave's Tuna and Chicken

    By on

Two of our three Tom cats are fed Dave's 95 canned exclusively and love it. They've been on Dave's canned cat food for over a year after feeding them Orijen and Instinct grain free dry food. The five year old cries until his food is in his bowl. He's always ready to eat. The seventeen year old patiently waits for his meals. Both cats are in excellent health. The seventeen year old returned from his vet visit with perfect labs. Couldn't be happier that our cats love this food. Wish I could put my other five year old Tom on it but he's still on a prescription diet for urinary struvite crystals. Can't take a chance switching him and having a reoccurrance and another veterinary emergency.
