    Excellent dog food!

We came across Dave's dog food at a local pet store and 1. she loves it, 2 it worked well with her issues. Changed recipe, now she won't eat it

I have been feeding my old dog this particular brand and flavor for quite a time and she previously ate well. Since the change in recipe, swapping in agar-agar for the carrageenan, she has tapered off and it is quite a struggle getting her to eat. Now she is old, 17.5, and picky, so that is part of I am sure. I have noticed a texture change, it now tends to be mushy and sticky. Time to look for a new canned food, I'll buy single cans at the pet store to see if I can find another winner for her. … more

  • Lots of Research

    By on

One of my three rescue sweeties has a terrible time developing way too much yeast. This only happens sporadically, but when it flares up she is miserable. She chews her paws incessantly and her paws turn red (a good way to know it's yeast related). Long story short, after much research into finding no grain AND no carbs, I luckily found Dave's. What my pets ate before was also good food but they all got tired of it. All three love love love Dave's. If your pet deals with skin issues, no grain food is good BUT they also shouldn't eat carbs. Examples sweet potatoes, potatoe, and peas to name a few. With yeast issues the diet must change as well as external skin care. So glad I found Dave's. • Dogs Love It

This is a product recommended by my vet. It works well with one of my dogs to cover up a twice daily medication for cancer that she does not like. The can is easy open and it contains no grains.

  • Zach and Ziva love Dave's 95% Turkey!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My two German Shepherds, Zach and Ziva, love Dave's grain free 95% turkey canned food and I love that it is very healthy and doesn't break the bank! It is the perfect consistency to mix with dry food as a topper. It causes no stomach upset either. I do wish that Dave's would remove carrageenan from all its canned foods. This one does not have it.

My dogs love Dave's Grain-Free Turkey recipe. They never leave their bowls until they lick them clean. I love seeing my pets enjoy their food.

  • Good product at a fair price

    By on

We have been feeding Dave's dog food for some time along with a dry food. The dogs like it and are doing well. We are able to get it at a pet food store at a better price but the store is a long drive from our house so Chewy has proven to be a good alternative. The order was very fast and that is appreciated. Will probably buy it from Chewy again.R

  • Great food for my diabetic dog

    By on

My 14 year-old diabetic bichon would not eat her regular food anymore. Since she gets insulin 2 x a day I was panicking. Came across this food in a search online that said it was good for diabetics so I bought 2 cases. She loves the food and I have been able to reduce her insulin by 2 units both morning and night. She also no longer has orange stains on her face from eye drainage. Getting ready to set up autoship with a few cases. Saved the day.

  • OUTSTANDING!

    By on

We have a diabetic dog who's been eating our vet recommended Glycobalance by Royal Canine. She hated it, but we were told it was the only food she could eat (73.00 for 2 cases)...until we found this. She absolutely loves it. It's like night and day now when she eats. No more fighting with her to eat her food so we can give her insulin shot. First 3 Ingredients for Glycobalance: Water Sufficient for Processing, Pork By-Products, Chicken... First 3 ingredients for Dave's: Beef, Beef Broth, Beef Liver...no by products! Low in carbs, high in protein, perfect for our diabetic dog and at a lower cost. Grateful that we found this. Thanks Dave's, and Chewy!

  • Maintains neutral pH, healthier than Rx dog food

    By on

My 16lb shih tzu poodle mix had bladder crystals and alkaline pH. This high fat, very low carb food helps my dog maintain a neutral pH. Dog Food Advisor gives it 5 stars and so do we. My dog loves it! Better quality food than the Rx dog food. I noticed others complaining about their dogs having diarreah. Maybe they are giving their dog too much food. I have a scale so I give my dog exactly 100g 2x/ day.
