    New Formula is Disapponting

    By Petwatcher on Mar 8, 2021 top250Contributor

My cat used to love this food. It was also an excellent value as it was a very thick pate where I would add water to it and I would get several servings out of one can. There are now extra unwanted ingredient such as agar-agar and natural flavoring. The turkey broth has been replaced with water. The texture is no longer smooth but a bit chunky. My cat refused it and I returned the case. Bad choice, Dave's Pet Food, in reformulating a good food making it a bad one. You changed the taste and the texture. It is no longer the cat's meow.

    Great option

By Chlolee on Apr 2, 2021

Organ meats are so important especially liver, and turkey liver is non inflammatory and considerably less in phosphorus than chicken livers. Thank you for this great option.

    Formula went South

By Jovermac on Feb 7, 2021

This initially had a solid formula the cats liked..then I saw a textural difference and when comparing labels I saw the broth was replaced with water and the addition of (agar agar)....Not received well with most of my cats. It's too bad they did this altering to a great product!

    Not Just a Label Change!

By Susan on Dec 20, 2020

Ad is a lie. It is not just a label change! The formula is also changed. If you fed your cat the former you'll see the difference when you open the can. Notice that the web page no longer includes a picture of the analysis? Comparing the former label with the new, the crude protein has gone from 12% to 8%!! Not worth the premium price. Is now almost identical to Dave's Healthy & Delicious line which is less expensive.

Had High Hopes for Cat's Meow

    By CatMom9 on May 27, 2020 top500Contributor

I was so hoping this food would be a hit with my kitty gang. I was willing to pay a little more in order to provide my beloved fur family with a healthy and nutritious meal. But... sadly it did not meet with their taste buds approval. I am mixing it with another food to get them to eat it and finish out the case that I ordered.

    No one likes it

By Celtiegirl on Jun 24, 2020

My four indoor cats walked away from this food. I gave to the five ferals who live on my property and they wouldn't even eat. They would rather eat lizards.

Cats like it :) I like the ingredients

By Cats on Nov 23, 2019

The cats all like it, I like that it has liver since some of the other canned foods I use don't. I like that it has limited ingredients, no carrageenan, no fillers. Just meat, liver, and vitamins primarily. I do wish Cat's meow offered other protein sources in a formula that is limited ingredient like this one. It seems one of our cats can't have turkey or beef.

    Cats like and dislike..

By Tootsweet on Dec 12, 2019

I bought this food for my one cat who has an occasional loose bowel problem but all 11 other cats ate as well. No one was crazy about it but all finished their dishes - it was cold outside and they do go out so they had appetites!

By ssfowler on Nov 27, 2019

I have a fussy cat and one that eats just about anything. My fussy cat will not eat this but my other cats eats it up. This is quality cat food, so I thought I would try it.

    seems good for ibd

By Burris on May 23, 2019

This food is working out for my picky, high-maintenance ibd feline. I wanted to find a wet food that would work for him and my other cats without an outrageous price tag (because you know the moment you give one cat something different than the rest they all go on hunger strike or something.) The plus is that this food has no carageenan which is hard to find. There are several protein source options/flavors to choose from (so I could avoid ibd kitty's suspected allergens. Pretty sure he can't have chicken. So I am avoiding all the cat's meow flavors with chicken.) I should probably mention that I work closely with ibd kitty's four veterinarians on his medical needs and I clear every food I try This food is working out for my picky, high-maintenance ibd feline. I have one cat who hates most turkey canned food but she liked this one. I plan to try a few other "flavors" of cat's meow so my cats can have variety but we have to go slow so we can ensure that ibd kitty is handling it all well. I am sure I will be able to tell more about my cats' purr-eferences in the near future. (Yep, I went there.) … more
