not a hit for my kitty

    By on

I bought a few different flavors and types of Dave's from a local store to test before ordering a case from Chewy. This is the third one of Dave's I tried and my cat doesn't like it. So far she has only eaten one, that is the chicken flavor of this line. I will try the other three I have and then decide. Even if I order one she likes, she may decide she doesn't after a few cans (that has happened before). I'm tryng to find other good quality food to rotate with the only current one she likes (Nulo, but I don't like that it has fish in it so don't want to feed her that everyday) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Dave's.

    Disappointed

    By on

I really wanted to like this food but it is just more liver than turkey. I microwaved it the next morning to heat it and I smelled only liver, that is for sure. I have 3 rescued cats that are not picky and gobble up food. But they just barely picked at this the first night and then wouldn't touch it. I donated the rest of the case to the Humane Society. Those poor cats probably won't like it either.

Cats love them, vet is happy

    By on

All three of our cats eat Dave's wet food, and they are all so soft, shiny, and healthy. The cats love the food, and even better yet the vet is happy with their weight-maintenance and overall health. Thank you Dave's!

    no cats are eating

    By on

not one homeless cats would eat this. They used to eat it but now maybe the ingredients are different or that the quality is very poor that no cats are willing to eat this. Not only not eating this, they also don't eat Dave's chicken as well. Something is wrong with the food.

Dave's cat food, quality meets economy

    By on

The turkey variety, though somewhat dry, (compared to other Dave's varieties) is happily received by our 4 felines provided it is part of a rotation featuring Dave's other flavors. A steady diet of turkey alone results in boredom.

    Large cans have more liquid

    By on

My cats like this food, and it agrees with them. The 22 oz. cans have more liquid than the 12.5 oz. cans for some reason. And the larger can requires the use of a can opener. The large cans are a little more economical, but a little less convenient.

    Another miss with our cats

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Some of the cats ate a bit of this food, then walked away leaving it. Weeks later, I opened another can, but they still refused. So I tried mixing it with their regular canned food, but found they just picked at it, then walked away. I was hoping to give them this better ingredient food without added food colors. Makes me wonder why a company has to add colors to make the food look better in the first place !

    I was so hopeful

Great ingredients but my kitty cat did not approve. I tried to change gradually but he wouldn’t touch it.

    Dave's Pet Food Turkey

    By on

The ingredients look clean, and the price is good. The cats don't love it, but that's OK. They do eat it, and my cats are a bit overweight anyway so if they were wolfing it down, they'd be asking for more!

    Recipe Change?

    By on

My cat ate this every day for years, but all of a sudden he refuses to eat it. Did the recipe change or did he just get tired of it?
