  • Great Food

    By on

After our cat finished his 3rd round of antibiotics for a UTI, we decided to start him on Dave's Restricted Diet Magnesium & Phosphorus Grain-Free food. He hasn't had another UTI since he's been on this food. I only wish it came in shreds or chunks because he's never been a fan of pate. To fix that problem, we add a small amount of the regular shreds over top, and he seems to like it better. I feel good that he's on a food that's all natural. The vet wanted us to put him on a Rx diet, but the brand he recommended was full of fillers. After much research, we found that Dave's brand of cat food was the best natural cat food at a much better price.

  • Great alternative

    By on

Great alternative to the prescription diet that is so expensive. The paste texture is a little weird, I have to chop it up and add a little water for my cat to really want to eat it. Overall he's not too picky though, so he likes it. He'd probably prefer a chunky texture with gravy, it'd be great if that were an option!

  • The cats meow!

I have a senior male cat with chronic ideopathic cystitis. He was on a food from the vet for this but he didn't want to eat it. I found this food at a pet store and decided to give it a try. He loves it and it's specifically designed for his problem! Will definitely buy this instead of the junk from the vet.

  • 4 cats liked it, for a few days

    By on

Because our veterinarian recommended our 9 yo male (indoor/outdoor) cat be on a low magnesium diet, they all are. I was hopeful after reading so many positive reviews that they'd eat it and gain the weight back that they'd lost eating the SO canned food. All four of our cats loved this canned food for about 5 days and then nothing. I would put out the food, they'd walk up, smell it, and then just stare at me. I mentioned them not eating it to our vet. She gave a sample of Hills Science Diet (low magnesium) dry food and now they're eating again, with no canned mixed in. Hoping Hills does the trick!

  • good cat food

This is a good food if your cat has allergies like one of mine, to any fish or seafood. I only wish they sold it in smaller cans.

  • Great Product, Excellent Customer Service

    By on

I was looked for a product so I could switch my FLUD cat off his prescription food. He was failing to thrive on it, losing weight and his coat turned dull with dandruff. Dave's Restricted canned food hit all the health notes we need to address without known cancer additives. Best of all, my boy likes it. I"m making a slow transition and he eats Dave's first, then the other. Speaking with other cat owners that feed this to their FLUD cats, I should see improvement in his health in 3-4 weeks. I'll take him back to vets for another clean urine catch at the end of this time to double check that this food continues to keep his bladder healthy. • My Senior cat says thumbs down

    By on

My 18 yr old male likes Pork based food and I added water and pureed it for him which he prefers and he wanted nothing to do with it. The consistency in the can is a big dry brick. Even with doctoring I wasted my money.

  • No thank you!

This cat food stuck to the plate and adding water dissolved the food into bits and pieces.

  • A little dry

    By on

My cat is in the early stages of kidney disease, and finding a food with low phosphorus that he will eat has been difficult. This food is a little dry, but I mix a little warm water with it and he loves it! He is pretty picky -- I definitely recommend this food.

  • Our Cat Loves It!

    By on

I cannot tell you how happy we were to find a grain free alternative to Science Diet's SD! Our cat hated the Science Diet SD and wouldn't eat it...probably because we've had her on grain-free for years. We are really excited and hope it clears up her stones and then, in small doses, combined with regular Dave's will help keep her from forming struvite crystals and stones.
