Good food - and chicken free!

    By nlm27 on Oct 15, 2020

This is a good food (not the best) but good. If you have a dog with a chicken allergy and you are struggling to find a diet food for your dog that's chicken free, give this a try. My dog personally didn't like it, but she's picky. My neighbor's dog loves it though. So really depends on your dog! As one This is a good food (not the best) but good. It won't break the bank and has good ingredients. It does smell a little different which is probably why my dog didn't like it (she's very scent driven). But I would recommend if you need a good option that won't break the bank! … more

Did not result in weight loss

While waiting for my vet-prescribed dog food for my overweight dog, I purchased this dog food due to its low calories and no chicken in its ingredients (my dog is allergic to chicken). Although my dog ate the food, she did not lose weight in the three weeks that I fed it to her. Additionally, she had less energy (which I attribute to the lower percentage of protein in the food) and she had allergy symptoms (which indicates that the food does contain chicken). I immediately stopped feeding it to her when I received the vet prescription dog food. I am hoping the local animal shelter will accept the nearly full bag that I have left! … more

    Jack is on a diet

    By on

He weighed in at 110 pounds at the vet and should be around 80-85. Our fault, we were feeding him a very high calorie food. We switched to this food to help him lose the weight and be healthier. Too early to tell on the weight loss journey but he loves the food and actually gets more volume - a win-win for any labrador retriever!

    Changed My Puppy

    By on

My 10 year old 9 lb Pomchi has always had a sensitive tummy. This dog food was recommended by my Vet and along with this and giving her Probiotic supplements every day (FortiFlora) she is like a different dog. No more is she making loose stools and just has an overall sense of well being.

    Bully Baby loves it!

    By on

Being a bulldog mom, it's so easy to spoil my Olde English Bulldogge Griffin, but he loves this food enough he hardly begs anymore for table scraps. I can definitely see the muscle tone coming in and he finally looks more stocky than pudgy. Would recommend this for any bulldog parent who struggles between pleasantly plump babies and knowing they could be healthier.

    Delivery is great

    By on

This food was recommended by local pet store when the more expensive food was not succeeding in weight loss. It was great to see it on Chewy for the same price, I didn't have to coordinate my schedule with pet stores limited hours, instead it was delivered.

    Warning, it smells awful.

    By on

It smells absolutely awful, but my Schnauzers like it and seem to be losing some weight, so it's working.

    Love this food

I have a cocker spaniel that went through a year of vet trips for chronic diarrhea. Test after test, switching foods, freaking out, the vet recommended a prescription digestive diet that cost over $100 per bag. I personally cant afford that. Doing a massive amount of research I came across this food which is basically the same across the board to the prescription food as far as protein, fat and calories. Hes been on this for roughly 2 months and it's all but healed him. He has had 2 bad bowel movements in that time, probably from stress because we moved. I would recommend this to anyone who is having dog issues with digestive issues such as colitis, ibs, ibd, pancreatitis.. anything along those I have a cocker spaniel that went through a year of vet trips for chronic diarrhea. Picky eater likes it

    By on

I have a senior male maltese who needs to lose a couple pounds. He can be picky when it comes to dry food. I noticed on this particular brand that lamb was the first ingredient when most brands name chicken. I noticed also that this brand has omega-3.There is a slight "fish oil" smell when you open the bag but it is not bad. The important thing is that my dog enjoys eating it.
