Feeding Instructions

Daily Feeding (cans):

Breed Size & Weight (lbs) Toy (2-12 lbs) Small (12-25 lbs) Medium (25-50 lbs) Large (50-100 lbs)
When feeding canned food only 1/4 – 1 1 – 1 3/4 1 3/4 – 2 3/4 2 3/4 – 4 1/4

Puppies: Feed up to two times the recommended adult feeding amount by body weight. As your puppy gets older, gradually decrease the amounts to near adult amounts.

Amount of food your dog requires will depend on age, activity level, environment and breed. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. Keep fresh water available at all times.

Transition Instructions

Some pets may have sensitive stomachs and could potentially experience digestive upset from a sudden diet change. Because of this, we recommend making a gradual transition between foods. Begin with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the new food mixed with 75% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet. Feed this blend for 2-3 days and then change the mix to 50% of each for 2-3 days. Then feed 75% of the recommended daily portion of the new food with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet for a final 2-3 days before fully switching.

  • For sensitive dogs, extend the period to 10 to 14 days.

  • I do not like the texture.

    By on

My dogs are not excited by it. I do not like the texture. I want it for making gravy with the dry dog food. Does not mix well. Pasty.

  • Great food at a reasonable price.

    By on

I just recently had to switch my two boxers' brand of both dry and canned food. They both took to the Diamond Naturals as if nothing had changed. It's a little drier than most canned foods I've used, but it works well for me because they get it as a topper on dry food that is mixed with water. It's also one of the more reasonably priced quality foods available.

  • They go crazy

    By on

My dogs love wet food but I am picky over which kind I give them. They regularly eat Diamond dry senior food so every once in a while I'll mix in wet food. They love this beef flavor and take a nice nap after dinner with a full belly.

  • Awesome Canned Food Choice

    By on

My dog loves the Diamond Naturals beef dry food. When he suffered an injury and wasn't feeling well, it was difficult to get him to eat. The Diamond Naturals beef wet food was a perfect substitute. It has mostly the same ingredients as the dry food, making it an easy transition for him physically. The food looks a lot like a can of ground beef, and my dog loves it! While we reserve wet food for special situations, we will definitely continue to buy this as our wet food option.

  • Diamond Naturals Beef Dinner

Both of my dogs refused to try this food. The food looked a little dried out, and didn't smell too appetizing. I was hoping they would at least give it a nibble. No such luck. Total waste of money.
