When transitioning your pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual introduction of the new formula over a 7 day period. For pets with sensitivities, extend the transition period to 10 to 14 days. Start by adding a small amount of your pet’s new food to his or her current food. Gradually, increase the new food amount and decrease the current food amount at each feeding until you are feeding only the new food.

I have given this food to my puppy since the day I brought her home. She is over 1 year old now. I bought a bag in July and she started to become very finicky about eating. She used to love dinner time. She then developed diarrhea which she had never had in her life. She refused to eat, she would try to “bury” her food, she had diarrhea, she would look at me with sad eyes when I put the food in front of her and bark. She lost weight because she did not want to eat the food. I called the company and they said there were no recalls on the food. We bought her new food and she had never been so excited. She now has her energy back. Obviously there was some contamination with the food we got and I see similar reviews. Will be contacting chewy.
I too, have been feed my boxers with this product for years and years. The most recent bag I’ve opened at the end of August, has been giving them both stomach troubles and both have vomited more than once. Now I see that chewy is out of stock, which is odd. What’s happened to the product?
I gave this food to my 10 month old golden retriever and he is shedding obscene amounts of hair. More than I’ve ever seen a golden shed in my life. He also broke out in a rash all over his body. I know it’s not the chicken because he was on Nutrisource large breed puppy chicken and rice and did great and his coat was healthy and he was thriving. I only made the switch hoping it would save me some money but now I’m back to his old food and bringing him in to the vet for his itchy flaky skin and excessive hair loss.
With five dogs we used to have some picky eaters. Diamond solves that with consistent quality. No pickiness as they want their Diamond. No digestive issues and over time their coats have all improved. At the price point I believe it’s the best quality for the money.
Thought this was made in puppy food but instead, it’s all stages. Worried me because I have a new, to us, 4.5 month old puppy that hates her food that she came to us with from her breeder, and she loves it. Our older doodle loves his adult chicken and rice so we decided to try it for our puppy. Glad we did. Hope all stages means puppies too.
I have fed my dogs (8 & 6 year old mixes) Diamond Naturals for years and they have always liked it and ate it just fine. I don’t know if they recently changed the formula or what but this last bag of food that I have ordered for them has made them sick. They both have been scratching themselves a crazy amount, one has bled and hair loss from it and it’s not from fleas because that was my first thought and I checked to make sure and saw nothing. At this point I hadn’t pinned it to the food yet and then one of them started to throw up somewhat broken down food often so I researched and found that their diet could cause these issues. Nothing has changed in their life recently, I’ve changed no products I use for them and it all started right when I opened this last bag of food. I cant find anything online saying that they changed their formula but I would be wary of using their products. Now I have to find another food for them that won’t cause these issues unfortunately.
I used to buy the puppy one from the same brand and feed My dog for 2y and them I decided to buy this one the worse decision I made, I wish I could return this, my dog dog stomach is bad every single day, and the reviews looks like it’s not just my dog so chewy come on and do something about it, keep selling garbage for dogs and it’s looks like is ok
I have bought this many times for my dogs over the years. Here recently it has been giving my dogs severe diarrhea. I’m not sure if the formula has changed or what is going on. I do not recommend.
I believe this food is causing bad rashes for both my dogs. One of them had to get fur shaved and wounds washed out. Didn’t think it was the food at first but switched second dog to it later than my first dog and now this dog is getting rashes. It is the only factor that correlates to development of the rashes.
When I got my puppy 4 years ago, the breeder was feeding Diamond puppy food. He is a large dog and I normally buy the Diamond Naturals for large breeds, but I now have a foster dog who is half his size, so I've gone to this formula. They both are doing great on it and the price is so much more reasonable than other brands out there.
