For pregnant or nursing adult dogs, we recommend free-choice feeding. Adjust amount offered daily as needed to maintain ideal body condition. This feeding guide provides a starting point for the amount of food to give your dog each day. We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow them to become overweight. The amount of food your dog needs can vary based on age, activity level or other food and treats given, so be sure to work with your veterinarian to determine an appropriate weight for your dog, and to make any necessary adjustments to their feeding.
Remember to keep plenty of fresh water available to your pet at all times.
When transitioning your pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual introduction of the new formula over a 7 day period. For pets with sensitivities, extend the transition period to 10 to 14 days. Start by adding a small amount of your pet’s new food to his or her current food. Gradually, increase the new food amount and decrease the current food amount at each feeding until you are feeding only the new food.

I have been using Diamond Naturals since it came on the market in the 70s! It not only is made in America, but has maintained its quality for all of the years Ive used it, in my opinion & based on my experience. For a couple decades I was breeding & showing collies, using Extreme Athlete when they were preparing for a show season & maintence Chicken & Rice when they werent. Ive raised MANY puppies with the puppy food. I rarely do reviews but figured it was about time being not only a long time user of Diamond as I also am a long time Chewy customer!! When it began, my late husband was truck driving & I found it appealing to have the food delivered. It was nowhere near the company it is now, but rarely have they let me down. To be honest there have been very few incidents that had to do with the delivery drivers, not Chewy themselves. I love that theres someone to answer questions 24/7. I highly recommend both Chewy & Diamond Naturals!💙💜
We raise puppies and have been using this food for probably 18 years. It’s small enough for the babies to eat and is the only one they continue to like. We tried other brands during those years but the puppies wouldn’t eat the other food as well. Diamond gives our pups great nutrition for a reasonable price.
I adopted a puppy and his previous owner said this is the food he has been eating and loves, but he is very tiny and he doesn’t seem to like this food much. His vet said she was concerned with how small he is and that we may need to switch his food. His litter mates seem to love it and are twice his size, it’s just not what he prefers.
I have used Diamond Natural for my cats for years. When we got a new beagle puppy, I decided to try this puppy food as it’s made with very good ingredients. Unfortunately our beagle is a very picky eater. She has been well vetted and appears to have no underlying conditions but just doesn’t eat well. We have tried several brands and it’s always the same. Since it is her more than the brands we have tried I’m still giving this food a top rating because of past experience with the brand. We are going to donate the remainder of the bag to our local shelter.
I have bought Diamond Naturals in the past and always trusted this brand for my dogs. I just acquired a new puppy and put him on this kibble. So far, he is doing well on this food. He is a little Malshi so I was hoping that the kibbles would be small for him. And they are! I would say these are about 1/2 the size of a pea. I use these as training treats too. So far, he seems to like this kibble.
We have 6 dogs, and we only feed Diamond naturals . 2 of our dogs are extremely picky, and this is about the only food that they will eat. It’s extremely affordable for the nutritional value. We are customers for life and I would recommend this food to anybody .
Not the best quality dog food. All of the highlighted ingredients are in small amounts. I used it because breeder was giving it to the puppies. Stool is loose and low nutritional value.
We have our 2 adult dogs on diamond naturals they do fantastic on it so when we got our new addition and they were on puppy chow I slowly transitioned her. It took me double the about of time to transition her just in case and she ended up very sick from it. Once she was just on this food. Made her extremely gassy and thirsty. She also had multiple poonamis like a tsunami but with poop as soon as I switched her back to puppy chow we have had ZERO issues. And I switched her back quick I literally stopped her on this food and put her on puppy chow. Would not recommend this food
Worst dog food ever. I had bought a bag in July and was giving it to the puppies and my older dogs. I didn’t realize it at the time but it was the reason my dogs were all vomiting blue stuff. Every morning. I stopped giving it to them. Again I tried it the other day cause I ran out of their fav food and the blue vomit came back. One aspirated on her vomit and it was a couple hundred dollar to the vet. Please be advised about this food.
Switched my dog to this diamond brand puppy food and he has been loving it. Has been a little gassy but nothing different from before. Doesn't really have problems on this food and tends to eat it all and want more. Awesome brand and great ingredients.
