When should I change from Diamond when should I change from Natural small breed puppy food to an adult food?
Answer by ChewyAug 10, 2017
When your puppy's growth in height slows, you should begin switching to a premium adult–formula dog food. This usually occurs around 9 to 12 months for small breeds, around 12 months for medium breeds and around 12 to 24 months for large breeds.

How many cups are there in a 6 pound bag of the small breed puppy formula dry dog food?

There will be approximately 4 cups per pound of kibble. The 6 pound bag will have close to 24 cups, the 18 pound bag close to 72 cups and the 40 pound bag close to 160 cups.

Poms love it

I had a problem finding kibble small enough for my Pomeranians tiny mouths til I found this one. My puppies love it and my adult moms love it too, and my adult dogs are all picky eaters. I use to have to put toppers on all the kibble I’ve tried in the past but don’t have to with this one! More to the point the price is right compared to other foods and it also has awesome ratings on DOG FOOD ADVISOR. The puppies fell asleep in their food bowl after finishing their Diamond Naturals!

My Sheltie puppy likes it

My brand new Sheltie puppy likes this food. She has great bowel movements and they are firm. I will continuue to buy for my Gemma as the ingredients seem to be good for her growth and health.

Picky puppies love it

My puppies were eating food they started with at breeders. I gradually switched to a brand I had used for years but they were not impressed and not as energetic. After some research I tried Diamond Naturals. They love it! And their abundant puppy energy has returned.

Great for mom and the kids

Our Doberman mix 'accidental mom' has enjoyed this food from day 1 with no loose stool side effects. Mom is maintaining her weight and the pups two weeks old are sliding around on their bellies fat and happy

Fussy Yorkie approves!

After his last check up, we were told to switch my two year old yorkie from the raw coated grain free kibble he was eating. It's the only food he would eat after trying over ten different brands. I was very skeptical, but I tried this brand based on the ingredients and a few yorkie websites recommended it. My little doggo gobbled it up and can't get enough! I thought it would be a process to get him to switch and it wasn't! The kibble size is super tiny also, about a quarter of the size of his current small breed kibble so it's very easy for him to chew (he's only 4.5 lbs, super tiny dog!). So glad I gave this a try!

Diamonds in the rough

I have a new puppy and I was reading an article of best foods for 2022...breed specific. This was my overall choice and my little guy loves it. Easy to chew, compact in size. Glad I chose wisely.

Arrived too late

I placed the order on 3/21 and it arrived on 29th. It’s like putting your dog on different diet bc you don’t have any other choose due to the delay of your order. And as dog owners, we all know how important the diet is for our furry family members.

Easy to switch to from Extreme Athlete

I feed Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete to my English Pointers, it takes a lot to keep weight on them. When I have a litter of puppies I find that when I switch the mom over to this Puppy Formula she does not have any issues with the new food. If you read the ingredients they are very similar with the addition of extra minerals and calcium in the puppy food. As with all the Diamond Naturals Foods I know more of the ingredients on the label than any other food I have found.

Excellent Product

I just love these diamond naturals. I have fed Diamond for about 17 years and have found great selections for all of my dogs from Great Danes to Yorkies and Chihuahua Mixes. Never have I been disappointed.
