Frequently Asked Questions

Do dogs & cats like the taste of FiRM UP? I have picky eaters.

Most pets LOVE the taste of our supplements.  There are some dogs & cats that will initially turn their snout up at the products,   but we encourage our customers to be persistent with the products as you are feeding your pet a supplement to help a condition or issue and you want to do what you can to get the products into the diet.  We encourage mixing the product into the food with a little bit of water.

Do I have to add water to FiRM UP and FiRM UP + cranberry?

Nope!  That is the beauty of FiRM UP!  It's mobile and easy.  The dogs/cats like it a little more and it's a little easier to eat (not as dry) when it is mixed with water... but the only side effect of feeding it dry is a condition we call "orange beard". ? My dog got into the pantry and ate an entire bag of FiRM UP!  Should I be concerned?  Should I seek vet care?

Our dogs have done this so many times without issue!!  FIRM UP is like candy to them!   With that said... it's not a bad idea to check in with your Vet if your dog has "racoooned" your bag of FIRM UP!.  We literally have a lock on our pantry now because of this!

I just received your firm up product and thought it smelled really nice when opening the package.  I haven't tried it on my dogs yet,  but I wondered why it's not available for humans?  It might be great replacement for other fiber sources such as psyllium?

Thank you!  We get this question a lot.  Although we use 100% Human Grade top notch ingredients, we license our products to sell in the pet industry, not the human supplement industry.

How many times a day should I feed your supplements?

All of our products are to be fed once a day or in one meal of the day with the exception of Urinary Berry... it is to be fed twice per day.

FiRM UP feeding instructions.  I am unclear on how much product and water to mix?

You will mix equal amounts of product and water.  So let's say you have a 20 lb dog.  Your would mix 1-2 tsp of product and 1-2 tsp of water.  The amounts are on the back of the packaging for reference.

How much cranberry is in FiRM UP Cranberry?

There is approx. 250mg of nutraceutical grade cranberry in each tbs. of FiRM UP! + Cranberry.

My dog/cat gets UTI's regularly.  Will FiRM UP Cranberry work?

FiRM UP! + Cranberry has the added benefit of cranberry (PAC's to fight infection and antioxidants).  There is enough cranberry in most cases to help maintain a healthy bladder and urinary tract however, if your dog/cat is prone to chronic UTI's, our Super Snout Urinary Berry supplement is a better choice.  Always consult with your Veterinarian before feeding any supplements to your dog/cat/

Can your supplements be given to any age dog/cat?

First,  always consult with your Veterinarian prior to feeding any food supplement....Ours or anyone else's!  Our products are pure, whole foods from nature... so there should not be any problems with the age of the dog/cat.  Please note though that puppies/kittens under the age of 12 weeks and pregnant/nursing mothers should be monitored more closely.

Your company name is Diggin' Your Dog and Super Snouts...are your supplements good for cats too?

Definitely!  Our products work excellent on cats! There is a dosage on every product for cats/cat weights.

Do your supplements require refrigeration after opening?

NEVER!  Use what you need when you need it and put the rest back in the cupboard/pantry! Our products are 100% shelf stable and ZERO WASTE products. ? Are your supplements gluten free/gmo free/pesticide free?

Yes... all of the above.

Where do you source your ingredients?

All Diggin' Your Dog products are 100% sourced in the USA.  From the ground to the bag they come from domestic sources.  Our Super Snouts brand has some ingredients that are selectively sourced outside of the USA... For Example: Green Lipped Mussel from New Zealand... the only place on earth to source it.  Egyptian Fennel (in Our GI Balance) is THE BEST fennel for gas.  The USA is really good at a lot of products... but we aren't the best at absolutely everything!

Do you source anything from China?

No, Nothing.

Where are the products manufactured and /or packaged?

Our treats are handcrafted / hand-packed for us by our partner in California.  All of our other products/supplements are formulated, handcrafted and hand-packed in our facility in Reno, NV.  We like to use to people, not machines to make our products.

How does FiRM UP work?

FIRM UP supports stool consistency and regularity in dogs and cats.  It does this through the fiber in the Whole Pumpkin and Apple Fiber.  It works great when switching foods or when GI upset occurs unexpectedly.  It works for both diarrhea and constipation.  How?  Diarrhea is a LACK of water absorption the colon and lower bowel. Fiber (FIRM UP) directly aids in forming solid stool by slowing down digestion and the passage of waste, giving the body more time to naturally absorb water.

On the other paw,  Constipation is TOO MUCH water reabsorbing into the body due to the slow passage of waste matter through the colon.  The result is dry and difficult to pass stools. Fiber (FIRM UP) will keep some of this water from being re-absorbed by the colon, giving the colon the fluids needed for hard to pass stools.

  • It works!!!!!!!

    By on

Our cat that we had adopted was having some digestive/food issues and was having loose stools/diarrhea, frequently. We had tried everything for him but his symptoms were not letting up. Bought this with a "what do we have to lose, we'll try ANYTHING'' attitude. Mixed in with his food (dry) for a couple of days and his symptoms were resolved! Took a bit for him to take to it, but now he eats it with his food no problem. Happy cat mom here!!

  • Definitely worth a try!!

    By on

I have a ten year-old cat who has had diarrhea most of his life. I have tried many foods and probiotics, but we got to a point at which he needed to be put on prednisone. I started using canned pumpkin which seemed to help a little, but it was a nuisance to use. So I discovered this product and gave it a try. It has definitely helped, although we are still trying to figure out the right amount to use. I am hoping I will be able to take him off the prednisone soon. He likes the Firm Up, so it has been easy to add to his food. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I do wish the packaging indicated the sugar and fiber content.

  • Love this!

Works well, and is much more cost effective than canned pumpkin when you need only a little bit. With canned pumpkin you have to open a whole can, even if you want only a little, then store the rest in the fridge. If you don't need anymore in the next week you have to toss it - what a waste! With this product you can use what you need only and there is no waste! We don't use it on a regular basis for stool firmness but instead use it as needed when our puppy has diarrhea due to eating strange things (he loves grass, sometimes picks up and tries to eat sticks and rocks and if we don't catch him in time...is sometimes successful).

  • Diggin your dog - Firm up pumpkin

    By on

So far, so good. My dog likes this product and will eat it willingly. She is pretty fussy. I haven't really had it that long and we are still adjusting the dose. Her problem comes and goes...change of food and the addition of probiotic's helped, but not enough. We will work on the dose and hope we succeed with this problem. My Vet showed me a copy of the bag and the ingredient list. He has another client that had success with your product. G

  • Didn't Really Help

    By on

We have a rescue that has had some gland issues and non-firm stools..,and really didn't notice much of a difference with this. Canned pure pumpkin seemed to work better. Three stars because it is natural ingredients and is a good supplement either way. Chewie was very helpful to remedy the situation.

  • Tough product to rate

    By on

Tough for me to rate this product. My dog loves the taste, but I don't think it is helping her gland issue. I feel she is scooting more than before the firm up. But I have tried multiple products with the same results, so again I can't say if it works like it states or not.

  • Really Does Firm Up

    By on

We started using this for my dog who had diarrhea for 3 months. This product firmed him up so much that his diarrhea has totally stopped. This is after we tried metronidazole, tylan powder, etc. This is an amazing product but does make my dog poop more often during the day.

  • Loose stools

It fixed the problem. Many trips to the vet and this product fixed the problem in one day. Simple solutions are sometimes the best. Plus, the taste seems to have stimulated her appetite.

  • helped, but wish it worked better

    By on

Worked better than most things we have tried, including probiotics. Stools still a little soft and messy to clean up. Dog didn't care for the taste but eventually ate it. Not sure if we will continue to give daily or just on occasion.

  • VERY USEFUL

    By on

I used this almost immediately with a puppy that was having difficulty adjusting to new surroundings. Found it very useful and good results without having to refrigerate a can of pumpkin.
