A little back story, we adopted our dog Max last year. When we adopted him he was on a chicken diet and everything seemed to be fine. So A little back story, we adopted our dog Max last year. When we adopted him he was on a chicken diet and everything seemed to be fine. Sometime during the summer we had given him Blue Buffalo Backyard BBQ as a special meal and something in it made him scratch himself till he bled through his coat. So we stayed away from beef. In December he got his Rabies Vaccine Booster and ever since then he has been a little off kilter. He started to always itch himself after eating his chicken kibble so we switched his food to turkey and shortly thereafter we were back to the itching like crazy. We asked our vet and of course they wanted to do a $500 allergy test. I knew there had to be other options. Now to the test, we did the test to finally figure out what was going on and hopefully help with these allergies that weren't being controlled with Benadryl. It took 3-4 weeks to get the results and when we got them we were completely shocked at the results. He has a high intolerance to olive oil and rosemary, he has a mild intolerance to chicken, turkey, halibut, corn, salmon, wheat and mold. So first off finding food without rosemary extract is nearly impossible but I did find a limited ingredient made by Merrick that did the trick. Also so many foods have wheat or buy products of another protein it's just crazy. Well the good news is Max is adjusting to his new food quite well, no more itchy episodes and his licking has cut down substantially. Thank you too Allergy Test My Pet. This is an affordable, accurate test and I highly recommend to anyone who has a dog who is constantly scratching and itching, it really was a life-saver. Don't let your veterinarian talk you out of it, it really does work. … more

Ordered two test. The code they give in the kit(both kits) was not able to register. I thought okay they have to receive it first (after multiple attempts) waiting patiently three weeks. Then not so patiently two months. NOTHING! Waist of money!

My poor dog would have been itchy forever without this test
By Alicia on Feb 28, 2022
This helped me find out my dog is allergic to Rosemary and rosemary is used in almost all dog foods. My poor girl would have lived her days with itchy shin a licking her paws raw if it wasn't for this test. Highly recommend if you can't figure out what your pup is allergic to.

Confirmed chicken allergy!
By Charlie on Jan 5, 2022
I received this from Pupfluence and had heard from my dog’s behaviourist trainer that a few of her clients also used this test and helped their dogs greatly. Previously I did an elimination diet when Charlie got his first ear infection. It was a long and painful process but I came to the conclusion that he was allergic to chicken and sensitive to beef. His test came back as red for chicken. Yet he had no sensitivities to beef showing. So I may try to reintroduce beef to see if that rings true. Also I found out he is sensitive to cabbage which is in his green juju veggie mix. So I will stop giving him that for the time being.

So excited
By CocoandChili on Nov 8, 2021
Received product very quickly , easy to do with easy instructions and should only take two - three.weeks to get results. Excited to finally see what Coco is allergic to! We want Coco to live a happy and healthy life. Knowing what she is allergic to should help with that.

Would recommend !

We received this allergy test through Pupfluence. I’ve always wondered whether Gus would have any allergies. Making sure Gus lives a happy, healthy and long life is of utmost importance to us. The test was easy to do. It came with a bubble mailer as well to ship back. Looking forward to getting the results so we can take the absolute best care of Gus !

Terrible Invalid Results - Long Read
By Chloe on Nov 1, 2021
I concur with some of the negative reviews on here. I purchased this months ago and actually bought three tests (there was a sale) as I wanted to test my chocolate lab, Bailey, for food sensitivity. All three results were different and didn’t match one another (science always says to confirm results. Never assume the first or second are accurate and as a pharmacist, I agree wholeheartedly). So i’ve been going back and forth for weeks with the company that made this and of course, received all kinds of excuses as to why the three reports for one dog were vastly different. The tests were all taken within 36 hours of one another. No medication, no benadryl, no injections in my dog, nothing that I concur with some of the negative reviews on here. The tests were all taken within 36 hours of one another. No medication, no benadryl, no injections in my dog, nothing that would botch the results. I had even purchased from another company and yup, same thing. Different reports. I finally just booked with a pet dermatologist who confirmed my suspicions on the accuracy of these saliva tests (and pointed me to several recent university and pharmaceutical studies (including one his organization performed in 2019-2020) to confirm how false they are and even pets without known allergies tested “positive” on a vast array of foods. Even humans can’t be tested accurately on saliva tests, so why would we expect dogs/cats to be? After spending money for a true, vet approved test (I did both blood and skin, the only two out there) I was able to determine which environmental and household allergies my dog had. Unfortunately, there are no true tests to determine food allergies other than an elimination diet, which I started in May for my dog and was able to identify two foods he has a 100% allergy too. I’ve been able to avoid them (and the household issues have ceased thanks to the dermatologist). He’s no longer on the diet and eating gm regular foods that avoid the allergens. To answer your question: no. nothing that my dog had an allergy to tested positive on these “allergy test” saliva kits. Save your money, time, and skip the reviews of people who rated 4 or 5 stars before they even received the results AND verified their accuracies. FYI: it takes about 6-8 weeks, sometimes 12, to see symptoms disappear. So those sayi bc they saw “immediate results” are either false or their pets had allergies other than food. Food allergies only account for less than 10% of overall allergies. Most owners erroneously attribute the symptoms to food when it’s something like dust mites or detergents used on laundry, etc.) Go to a dermatologist. It’s worth it in the end for the service, knowledge, and future tips on how to alleviate your pet’s misery with the itching/scratching. Looking for a fast and easy out is what everyone wants, myself included. But when it comes to our furbabies, quality is better, IMO. If I could, I’d rate it 0 stars. … more

Great experience

Very easy to do, test results came back quickly, and an excellent insight into my dog’s sensitivities!
