Dog Helios Hurricane Reflective Dog Coat

I recently purchased this online for my grand dog! In red! Large was a bit snug...but Chewy is a great company for exchanging! I got a refund on Moose’s jacket for an extra large! And I intend to donate the other one for another rescue dog! My son and his girlfriend rescued Moose when he was 6 months old! Joy of our lives! Catahoula leopard! He is going to enjoy his 3rd Christmas Eve with us once again! New toys too!

This is a nice looking coat, if you’ll pardon the huge leather patch that advertises the maker. It fit my dog well, but it fell off of him the first time he wore it. The Velcro that goes under the dog’s belly has two 1/2” strips that are supposed to be matched up while the dog is wiggling, etc. Why not use a large swath of Velcro to make it easier to secure and keep on the dog?!

I purchased this coat based on the positive reviews. What a disappointment. The size recommended for my 50# Dalmatian barely covers him and the coat is so thin it doesn't keep him warm. I have purchased other dog coats in the past and they fit much better and are much warmer and at the same price or even lower.

I purchased another coat for my second dog. I love these coats - they have proven durable and work well in winter weather. My only complaint is that the belly band is way too big when ordering the correct length for my dogs. I knew that when I ordered the second one so I can’t really complain. Quick fix on the sewing machine.

It is easy to put in with the Velcro and the Velcro is sturdy enough to keep the jacket on. We use it when it’s cold or rainy outside and it works great! One of the few jackets and fits our dog with a wide chest.

Nice lightweight material that keeps my dog warm and fits her well. I did have to add a couple strips of Velcro to ensure the jacket stayed on after my girl figured out how to rub against a tree and get it off herself.

I bought the XL for my 55-lb boxer/lab mix puppy and it fits well with some room through the chest as he grows. Sturdy velcro closures make for easy on-and-off. For colder climate, would consider this a fall coat or for milder winter days above freezing temps.

Lightweight and it fits well. Not very heavy for full blown cold weather but good enough for keeping my husky warm.

Not insulated not warm at all. It is way to expensive and totally not useful. I hate chewy. Really really hate it.

My main complaint with the jacket is the bogus advertising claim that it is a "Waterproof polyester outer shell" It is not water resistant, let alone 'water proof'. After a very short walk in light rain the jacket gets soaked all the way through to the inside (see pics). Also, it lacks coverage in the shoulders (just the neck and belly), and the velcro come undone sometimes, so it does not stay on as well as we expected. We replaced this with a jacket that is water resistant and more secure. However, for hanging out in cold, dry weather (like at the shop indoors) this works okay.
