I started giving my Sophie 1/2 pill daily several months ago. She had bouts of limping that wasn't resovled with pain pills. She has been limp free and able to jump off the couch now. Just started my second bottle.
This is amazing stuff for dog arthritic pain. BUT, it can be a bit hard on the dogs stomach. Especially if you have a dog that has a nervous tummy, has an acid issue, etc. My dog is 75 lbs, 7 yrs old, and was on this for about 3 wks when I started noticing her poop had blood in it, which meant something was bothering her stomach. I stopped the DPA, and within a few days, her poop went back to normal. She also has issues with glucosamine and chondrotin, which can be tough on dogs tummy too. I gave these with food, but it made no difference with my dog. Overall, it works but just be careful.
Years ago, I used a product called DGP (Dog Gone Pain) that seemed to help the seniors I had then with joint pain. So I googled the name. Chewy does sell it, but I somehow ended up ordering Dog Pain Away. My senior Shepherd mix certainly seems to have more spring in her step and less pain. She has been on the Dog Pain Away for a couple weeks and I am really happy with the results.
It's tough to say if these help or not. I think they do, I start giving them to my dog whenever his hind end gets very weak (and painful, I assume), and he is better after a few days. But this could just be a normal cycle like our joints hurt more in certain weather conditions. This said: this is NOT a chewy product, more the consistency of an aspirin, and the dog does not like it as a treat, prompting me to look for a better product.
I have given about half a bottle of these to my Dane who has been limping as a result of Lyme disease induced arthritis and it has not shown any improvement. I was hopeful that this would relieve my poor baby’s pain but unfortunately it has not. I opted for this because she cannot have any NSAIDs due to her poor kidney function. I am very sad by the lack of results.
My Boston Terror and Boston Terror mix are about 14 years old. I gave them one daily for almost a whole bottle. It has not made a difference. I'm going to try to get a refund for the second bottle. I'm so disappointed. I don't want my babies in pain.
I can't get my boys to take these. I have to hide them in cheese or something-after I break them up. I also haven't noticed much change. They still look like they're hurting.
My Standard Poodles are seniors now and we chop up a Pain Away Tablet into their meals 2x a day. The turmeric helps with inflammation.which relieves stiff muscles and joints. Chewy has the Best Price.
Since giving this to our 15 year young mixed breed she seems to have a little more pep in her step.
So glad I found these for our pup! She had a torn ligament. Poor thing would always be in so much pain, especially after a short walk, or if she played too much. We started these and you could tell her pain eased up. She barley flinches with her leg now! Will happily run around, and jump up. I can’t believe how much they have worked. We have been giving these to her for 2 years now! Awesome!
