  • Not Sized for Small Breeds

    By on

My 6lb Biewer likes the taste, but struggles with the size. At just over 1/2", I doubt most toy breeds would eat it consistently--mine is a stocky, aggressive little girl that tries about anything, and she did and ate it for a day, but she prefers the size of Taste of the Wild puppy choices, even the slightly larger Orijen puppy (her favorite). So I would say that their claim of for "all breeds and sizes" is highly debatable. Wish they imported the euro version of this food that is sized for puppies but it is illegal to sell here, so I'll be trying some other brands.

  • Expensive but worth it!

I have a 1 year old German Shepherd, Rottwieler, Staffordshire terrier mix and a 3 month old siberian husky. Acana is by far the best kibble I've ever found. My family teases me for how much I spend on their food, but only the best for my babies! Their coats are shiny, their poops are firm and healthy. My vet compliments them every time we visit for how healthy and happy they are. I love every variety of Acana. My dogs will be Acana dogs for life! I've never seen a brand this transparent and honest and in today's day and age, that's something to appreciate.

  • Huskie loves her Acana

    By on

I give my Siberian Huskie a mix of Grasslands, Wild Atlantic and Taste of The Wild (puppy). She is 8 months now and could not be healthier. I don't mind paying extra for my dogs well being. Maybe one day they will have Acana coupons? or a rewards program would be nice for loyal customers.

  • A favorite of the dogs

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I did a lot of research on dog food and what was best for my dogs. I tried other less expensive brands and while they are okay, Acana has been amazing for my dogs. One of my dogs always had soft poop, plus she pooped almost 5 times a day. On Acana, her poop has become more firm and she poops maybe 2-3x a day now. I am completely sold on this brand and I am extra happy because I know the food is very nutritious for my dogs. The price is high but since the portion sizes are much smaller I have been able to make this food last longer than their old food.

  • Great recipe for picky, allergic Shiba!

    By on

My Shiba Inu is a typical finicky eater - also prone to itchy allergies. I've had her on grain-free feeds for years but was impressed with the ingredients of Acana Grasslands. I decided to try it, based on recommendations from other Shiba friends for it's long-term health benefits for not only allergies but also organ health, skin and coat benefits and flavor. My Shiba easily transitioned over to Grasslands and loves it - no more finicky eater! Her coat looks great, and her itchiness has been reduced noticeably. I'm really pleased with the results and both my Shiba and I highly recommend Acana Grasslands!

  • Wonderful quality food

    By on

In search of the better dog food for my 14yr old dog and 2 other dogs I broke down and shelled out the cash for Acana (very pricey) I'm finishing off my 4th bag about to open my 5th. Finally no more IBS in my older dog no more horrible stink of yeast or skin flakes or dull coat and no more clumps of hair all over the floor. My 14yr old has had IBS bad skin and stunk her whole life until now. All 3 dogs have full shiny beautiful coats no smell and little to no shedding. Amazing quality food. Was considering upping to Origen but the results have been so great why rock the boat. Definitely recommend but you have to give it time to heal all the damage inferior dog food has done before leaving your In search of the better dog food for my 14yr old dog and 2 other dogs I broke down and shelled out the cash for Acana (very pricey) I'm finishing off my 4th bag about to open my 5th. • We love ACANA but....

    By on

We usually buy the lamb and pear singles and have tried a couple of the other flavors in singles. I purchased this flavor for something different for the dogs and all three of them hardly want to eat it and two of them are pigs. I don't think anything is wrong with the food, but my guess is the plethora of meat types in it isn't what my dogs like. If you have dogs used to more simple feeds, maybe avoid these. ACANA is usually well received by our dogs though.

  • Excellent product

    By on

This formulation has been around for a while and it's proven to be great on its own. With Orijen downgrading their product, Acana is my best option now.

  • My dog approves.

    By on Top 500 Contributor

This Acana Grasslands dog food is working nicely for my German Shepherd. It agrees with his digestion and output seems normal. This seems to satisfy him. He gets tired of the same tastes, so I occasionally add a small protein rich topper to keep him interested. I am happy to see that after more than 5 tries , he finally got use to the new formula. I feel confidant that this is a great dog food. My dog has been off and on Acana foods for over 2 years. His fur is beautiful. This is a great choice !

  • The boys recommend it!

Just switched to Acana's Regional formula after feeding their Heritage formula for a year, after reading the Dog Food Advisor's evaluation and 5 star rating. So far, so good!
