Rated 5 out of 5 by Top-Quality Food Reading the ingredients it is easy to see the product's high quality. Having a dog who seems to get skin irritations from grain products, I like the grain free option here. The other perk to this particular product- besides the fact that the dogs both love it- is that their coats have become even more shiny, soft, and beautiful. They have great energy and it seems as though limiting grain has helped both her digestion and her skin and my golden just loves food. I am feeding Acana wild fish to a female Bernese/Shepherd cross and a big male golden retriever. January 15, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by My fur baby loves his fish food This is the 2nd bag of Acana Wild Atlantic I have purchased for Chaco, my lab/pit mix breed and he loves it. I feed him one of champions other foods, Orijen original adult food, I always get the 25lb bag of that, along with Acanas tundra freeze dry 16oz bag, and then for variety I will also get a 13lb bag of the Acana dry kibble in their different proteins to give Chaco variety in his diet. So far we have tried the Heritage meats, grassland regional, ranchlands regional, and then this one, the wild Atlantic regional. I like this wild Atlantic because my Chaco loves his fish foods, but I am not a huge fan of salmon as an Ingredient, due to the overwhelming smell it usually has, but I have yet to try orijen or acana foods that include salmon, so theirs may not be so bad?! Chaco has never had any tummy issues, even as much as I change his food. He eats the Orijen once a day and the Acana variety once each day with the dehydrated on top of one or the other every couple of days. I put 1.5 medallions on top of his dry food, but I do not do this every meal or even every day as it can be pricey. Chaco devours his food with or w/o the dehydrated food on top, but he does love his Tundra freeze dry. I appreciate how easy it is to switch around his foods w/o issue. I am sure eating the same exact thing every day is really boring, so thank you champion dog foods for amazing quality food and the freedom of variety. January 8, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dog loves this food It arrived super quick - as promised. My fussy-about-food-dog (a pug, but of course!) loves it!!!! It seems like he is much more energized and he lost some weight which is great!!! I am a fan!!!!! January 11, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent First Step!! Acana is an excellent "entry" food into the land of grain-free.... wherein your pets will have far fewer health difficulties, excellent energy, and healing of such things as skin conditions and allergies. Acana is made by the same company that makes Orijen, and to me, Orijen is the Cat's Meow. Or, the Dog's Bark. It's the TOP of the TOP. If you try Acana and like it, you will LOVE ORIJEN. Order some Acana, and read what's on the package. Nothing more is needed. I swear! If you fear the price-tag (like I did!), please rest in the knowledge that you will be feeding your pets only a FRACTION of the amounts you've fed them of food involving grain. When you feed grain-free, and heart-healthy-fats, which are included, your pet will be satisfied with an amount far less than what you'd feed her with most locally-available foods. If you sleep with your pets (I sleep with seven!) please know that these healthy grain-free foods eliminate FLATULENCE. Ahh..... there is a Heaven, after all!! May 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Acana Dog Food Our puppy loves and thrives very well on Acana. She is a flyball competitor and the protein level is great for her for all the energy she needs. I love the fast delivery from chewy too.. January 1, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Acana Seems to be Great I decided to go with the fish flavor because the other flavors had pork and some people do not like to give pork to dogs (however, my dog does fine with pork). The package came vacuum sealed so the dog food did not get all chipped and crumbly during shipping. The bag of dog food seemed super fresh, smelt like fishy goodness to my dog (not to me). My dog likes this food, she has no issues with it being to rich and has normal stool. We were on the Wild Calling which was also a good food, I am trying to get her to lose weight so I wanted a higher protein/fat food. So far so good. December 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by awesome quality food This food is awesome for our new senior Border Collie. She came in with really itchy skin and brittle fur, and this (along with fish oil and other life changes) has really helped her coat shine. Even her vet asked which food she has been eating for the past few months to make such a difference. Love it. December 17, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's okay. My dog prefers the Freshwater Fish version. This one smells like chum. It's not bad and I'd still recommend it but I seriously think ALL Acana brand made in the USA should drop in price. Personally, it's not as good as it was once made in Canada. December 5, 2016
