  • my dog wouldn't eat it....

    By on

So i'm always a big fan of Acana and Orijen, and my dog does love 'fish' type snacks, so i decided to mix it up and give him the wild atlantic instead of the acana meadowlands. Well...he refused to eat it. I figured he was just being a stuck up pup and he would eat it when he got hungry...well after almost 2.5 days of not touching his food (and he is a very active pup), I panicked and went out and bought him a different brand (orijen) which he gobbled it up as if he hadn't eaten in days...which was the case. Maybe this is specific to my dog, but he wouldn't touch the food.

  • Acana Wild Atlantic for Dogs

    By on

Merle loves this food. He always enjoys it. He's been doing very well on it, but it is not the be-all and end-all of his allergy problems. He is a mix of Black Lab and some variety of wire haired Terrier (Jack Russell???). He has been having dry, itchy skin this year, even on this food and on an Omega 3 supplement. So.....this food helps a lot, but it may not solve all your doggie's problems.

  • Love Acana Fish Foods!

We have two allergy prone dogs, a Cocker Spaniel and an English Bulldog. We need food with no chicken, beef, lamb, turkey, potatoes or grains with low carbs for the yeast. We have tried so many quailty dog foods but have never fed a food that ceases there issues like Acana has. I switch between Atlantic Fish and Freshwater Fish, for variety I add a patty of Orijen Freezed Dried Tundra or Stella and Chewys Vension, Natures Logic Canned Rabbit or Zignature Canned Whitefish as toppers for each meal. Thanks Chewy for all your help in finding these great foods that fit our dogs needs, we have never seen them so happy at meal times, our six year old Bulldog is acting like a pup again, their coats are like velvet and they just glow! … more

  • The Best Dog food

    By on

I have been looking for a high quality dog food to feed my two twelve month old English Bulldogs. This dog food has surpassed all expectations. Their stools are firmer & their coats are shiny. Both love this food & it has increased their energy levels. Thank you Chewy. Your selection of foods is wonderful and your shipping excellent.

  • Not For My Dog

    By on

My dog really liked the Acana Lamb and Lentil, and she thought the Acana Pork and Squash was OK, but she won't eat any off the Acana Wild Atlantic Regional Formula. I wish these companies would offer sample packages. I hate buying a four or five pound bag of dog food and having her not like it.

  • Happy, Happy, Happy

Our dog finally likes her food! Yay! And, we believe we have finally found a food that agrees with her. She has had ear problems (yeast???) for a while and we haven't been able to get it cleared up until now. After switching to Acana Wild Atlantic her ears are looking great and we are so thankful!

  • Very skeptical and uneasy at first but VERY IMPRESSED once I bought it...

    By on

I must say that I hardly ever leave any feedback on anything, but do when I have either a really good or really bad experience. I own three dogs, two miniature Schnauzers and one English Bulldog. When I began my search for a very good quality and highly rated food I ended up purchasing Wellness and I felt at ease knowing I was giving my dogs some of the best food out there (or so I thought) but soon began to notice they would turn their face from it and not finish it very often. They would reluctantly eat it, they did not like the food very much, and that's because they're not very picky eaters to be honest. But then I began to have yeast/skin problems with my Bulldog, and though I do not blame I must say that I hardly ever leave any feedback on anything, but do when I have either a really good or really bad experience. But then I began to have yeast/skin problems with my Bulldog, and though I do not blame the food for any of it, I did feel a need to change food so I could be sure I was doing all possible to stop all negative issues. At that point I decided to look and search further for a better quality food, and that's when I came upon Acana, and WOW! am I impressed! I was skeptical to purchase this food because of the high price tag and not getting my monies worth, also because of fear they would not like the taste being that it was fish again. And finally a couple of negative reviews really had me on edge but I decided to pull the trigger on it and I'm so glad I did, many things have changed for the better after changing to Acana. They love this food, they go at it quickly and finish it all most of the time. I also noticed that their poop does not smell as strong and is not grainy like it was before when they were on other brands. But the one thing that really sparked the idea to write this review is the fact that their coat changed so much for the better. They shine with such gloss that I just look at it and can't believe a simple change of food could cause their coat to look so good, so quick. I HIGHLY recommend this food, I will next be trying Grasslands and if all goes well with that one too, I will then be rotating between these two meal kibbles to not make it boring for them. … more

  • Top-Quality Food

    By on

Reading the ingredients it is easy to see the product's high quality. Having a dog who seems to get skin irritations from grain products, I like the grain free option here. The other perk to this particular product- besides the fact that the dogs both love it- is that their coats have become even more shiny, soft, and beautiful. They have great energy and it seems as though limiting grain has helped both her digestion and her skin and my golden just loves food. I am feeding Acana wild fish to a female Bernese/Shepherd cross and a big male golden retriever.

  • Excellent dog food

    By on

I highly recommend this dog food. High quality food and best part is grain free. I can tell the difference in my dog's coat (3 labs I have). Their coats are shinny and they look so healthy! I recently was feeding another brand and they didn't get excited about eating until I switched to Acana....right there ought to tell you something. Thank you Acana for making good quality dog food!!!!
